I liked what he said about making sure that they had the "retro-futuristic vibe" in ME3, and about discontinuing the move toward the "dude/bro" style.
I loved how iconic the atmosphere and the sights/sounds of ME1 were; as important as the visual/audio style of the original Star Wars was to cementing the "soul" of that franchise, I thought the audio/visual flair of ME1 was just as important to the ME universe (well, as far as Bioware's trilogy goes). In the spirit of this style, I think the new AR effect sounds right at home, honestly. It's like a balanced cross between the booming ARs of ME1 and the lighter, articulated ARs of ME2.
