Some stray questions and thoughts that I don’t believe I’ve seen brought up yet.
First, a question – hopefully Mr. Gaider or another writer may be able to answer. What is the bird that seems to inhabit Kirkwall? You see one in a few cutscenes – most notably the scene where your ship is just pulling into Kirkwall (about 30 seconds into this clip). They also seem to be lazily gliding around whenever you look up at the tower in the Gallows (very reminiscent of a turkey vulture's flight pattern). These black-feathered birds with large bald areas around the eyes also appear all throughout Kirkwall in statue form. Their look and the demeanor of the statues (the bird cranes its neck down and looms over everyone) suggests it may be a type of carrion bird. Does this bird have a name or significance?
It was subtle at first, but now that I’ve noticed it, I’m seeing symbols of that bird everywhere. The statues are prominent in the Gallows and in Hightown leading up to the Viscount’s Keep. There’s also bird heads sticking out of the tops of columns in Hightown and some bird in mid-flight heraldry on banners hanging around there and in Lowtown – although THOSE birds look more like a hawk or eagle (I could be wrong; it could still be representative of Kirkwall's Mystery Carrion Bird).
Does this bird have a deeper meaning to Kirkwall, much like the mythical Liver Bird does to Liverpool or the eagle on a cactus eating a snake does to Mexico? And the type of bird makes a big difference, too, if real life lore and symbolism means anything – such as how many cultures view hawks and eagles as symbols of power, ravens and crows as trouble-makers or warnings of evil/death, robins as signs of rebirth and spring, etc.
The bird thing just really seems like it’s everywhere. From the statues to the bird itself – to the protagonist’s surname being HAWKE – to the Amell family crest looking like two birds clasping claws together in mid-flight. It just seems like more than just coincidence. Is there any connection? Or am I going loony?
And on a somewhat-related note, the other big mover-and-shaker of Kirkwall history in your party has feathers on his cloak… which go black (like Kirkwall's Mystery Carrion Bird) if you help him distract the Grand Cleric. More bird symbolism or am I just stretching things now?

I noticed them as symbols of Kirkwall. Weirdly enough, it's in Aztec design - a base for dwarven culture.
Did anyone read the history? I'll probably be re-reading it again via the codex.

Well i never took Morrigan to the meeting so I thought it might have been her, I wonder if it's still in that cutscene if she is in your party?.
