It should be a paragon interrupt. I'd like to do it every time any of my companions starts to be all broody and serious.

I got Carver up to about 80% friendship on one of my playthroughs until he decided to go and get the taint. Happy to give my bro a hug.

Wow I'm curious as to how you pulled that off. Best I was able to do was to get him around 50% friendship.Paeyne wrote...

Without Dragon Age Wiki I wouldn't have managed it.
You have to try and do everything he likes and nothing he dislikes as he starts at about 70 rivalry.
You have to take him on the deep roads expedition or you take a very big hit.
I brought Anders as well so he wouldn't die of the taint.
Unfortunately I saw very little difference between best bro and hated bro. Maybe a change in tone in some areas.
I see no way of getting him to 100, there is simply not enough opportunities in the time you have him.

Well, any DLC like what's being asked for may as well let you hug any companion, but I do think Carver tends to be misunderstood.
Interesting post above--I had a feeling it was impossible to get him to 100% friendship.

If I could slap Carver upside the head before I hugged him I'd be happy
