Its real simple Bioware and their utter disrespect of us Cerberus fans and our choices in Mass Effect 2.  Their bull sh*t excuse of not telling us why Cerberus is after Shepard even if he saves the base in 2 is falt out insulting.

It was totally disrespectful of Disney towards Scar fans for him to betray Mufassa and to have him die in the end with stupid Simba winning.

Even if it was legal (doubtful, but let's assume for the sake of argument), the act is incredibly imprudent and makes the Allliance look extremily bad and weak.

Why do you think the Turians were so anxious to do this? Because they hate Cerberus that much even though they never targetted the Hierarchy? I bet that they thought this would be a great opportunity to show the Alliance that they are still weak and that the Turians are the real "problem solvers" of the galaxy. Especially since apparently the default Shepard ends up with the Council killed.

Unless Cerberus was targetting aliens, it remains a human affair. And even then, unilateral action against it without the Alliance  knowing or participating is politically imprudent.

That's not entirely true. Cerberus indirectly assassinated a turian Hierarch hawk by sabotaging his ship's FTL systems.

Don't know if anyone of them knows about this, though.

More importanlty, that confirms for the canon that the Hierarchy has "hawks".

The Hierarcy has hawks. The Alliance has hawks.

So why the hell Anderson plays for the alien team???

You humans are all racist !

At least Anderson understand that outside help is not a weakness... B)
If humanity is too stuborn to demand help on certain matter then I will let them die on Earth. Also, Cerberus are terrorist, thus they deserve death.

Because there's no point in being a member of a galactic community if we're constantly fighting to topple them.

A galactic community (let's assume it's feasible) does not have to impede on sovereignity. An equitable community does not suffer weakness, and the Alliance will look weak after what happened.

IIRC, that incident was made to look like an accident. And even then, it's hardly worth all the trouble. They obviously had political motives in doing this.

Because the turians are badass.  They have the cunning of the salarians, the sex appeal of the asari, the kickassery of the krogan, and the endearing adorkableness of the quarians.

Everybody loves turians, man.

dam right we do he is a worthless piece of Alliance garbage

If hes a wothless peice of garbage, then what does that make TIM?

Savior of humanity.

Unless you're that part of Humanity that includes:

Biotic kids (they're free to be slaughtered, tortured and otherwise killed).

The Pope (The Incompetent Man felt it was fine to assasinate him).

Alliance Marines (The Incompetent Man felt that it was fine to lure them into a Thresher Maw's nest).

Admiral Kahoku (The Incompetent Man felt that after slaughtering Kahoku's Marines, see above, it would also be fun to kill Kahoku).

Commander Shepard (Sole Surviver background, The Incompetent Man lured a Thresher Maw towards a peaceful HUMAN colony where it promptly killed nearly everyone.  Only two survivors, Commander Shepard and Corporal Tooms).

Corporal Tooms (After surviving that horrendous Thresher Maw attack he was then captured by Cerberus and injected with Thresher Maw Venom, causing excruciating pain).

So yeah....

Saviour of Humanity?

Gotta wonder what goes on in the head of TIM supporters, especially now. How is he a saviour of humanity if he tries to kill Shepard who clearly is our best hope in ME3 in uniting the galaxy? He's undermining everything Shepards doing while the earth burns.

Difference between "outside help", and "outside unilateral action without the Alliance even knowing".

If you don't care about political repercussions, the big picture, and honestly think that the Turians did this out of the kindness of their hearts, then sure, you can give Anderson a medal for enlightenment on inter-species relations.

This this this.

The Alliance is weaker politically and they didn't even know it until after the fact. They were betrayed by their own councilor/high ranking ambassador.

Ugh.

We can't really judge TIM until we know his intentions.

However, I feel sorry for anyone who didn't see this coming.

There is a rather interesting thought that keeps occurring to me: Shepard basically becomes Saren 2.0 and Tim is Shepard 2.0. In other words, history repeats itself and ME3 is ME1 but on a more "personal" scale.

I'm sure it won't be like that, but it's a scarily interesting thought.

@Fiery Phoenix: Great fun, isn't it?  I wonder if it will ever be mentioned directly in-game?  On one hand, it would show that BW planned it.  On the other, I don't like being slapped in the face with otherwise crafty moves by the writers.

It would be very interesting, bit I doubt that's the case.

That said, the devs did say that endings in ME3 will be very divergent. Maybe one of them is Shepard becoming a reaper agent, with humanity "ascending" to Reaperhood.
