It is a game breaking bug when your dex has no impact on your melee damage. You're not doing as much damage as you think. You're getting by probably but you'll find even sword and board warriors do more damage which is gimped.

Sorry but you must be misunderstanding what the term gamebreaking means...does it stop you from playing the game? does it make your character unplayable? I'm no saying there shouldn't be a patch, but holding off(or complaining) about how you can't make a dual dagger wielding rogue until this is fixed is unreasonable. My character does more than fine on HARD, I'm sure he would be just as fine on nightmare.

Perhaps what is determined as gamebreaking is subjective, but I wouldn't think that "you're not doing as much damage as you think" is cause for much distress.

Bugs I have encountered :

Corpses routinely take up to a minute to become lootable after being killed.. Extremely annoying, especially when you kill something that has a quest item you need to loot.

Several quests 'loop' for instance in the sloth demons domain I killed flemeth, by beheading her no less and then the entire script looped back to her talking to morrgan again, but she was headless (Which was admittedly pretty funny)

These should be fixed – but as a short time work-around, you can restart your console. These are due to the memory leak bug that begins to appear after 2-3 hours of continuous playing.

The looping started because you talked to Morrigan before she could talk to you, I assume? Normally she starts talking to you right after the combat is over.

It also causes some battles to drag on far too long – eg. the final battles where new waves of enemies will only appear after the previous one is dead. No loot -> enemy isn't dead -> no new waves.

Yeah, I'm also hoping they fix the Shockwave issue. Right now you can cast it on allies, but you are only meant to be able to cast it on enemies. It's really a confusing thing... anybody else really bothered by the fact that you can cast Shockwave on allies? It's my understanding that the intent of this spell is that it is cast on enemies only. Hopefully they fix this in the 360 version. Anyone else with me?

Now that you mentrion it I do think this got worse the longer I played.. (I think 10 hours straight last weekend..) I'll try your suggestion tonight.. Considering you can save anywhere it should not be too difficult!

I agree that they should endeavor to fix all gameplay as it was originally intended to work....
Or was some of this deliberately toned down for game balance?
It would sure be nice if we had a rep from the development team respond every once and a while

Thats what is starting to ****** me off.. I e-mailed EA as well asking, I see Devs posting in other issues, but not a single post about bugs? Just sad really, I don't know what is going on these days, but Bioware is not the company it once was..

6. In a certain sidequest in the Alienage it becomes impossible to continue since it locks you in the room and won't update. (Tried on 4 characters.)

i ran into this too, talked to the npc and he went through the initial encounter dialogue with the foe (though thankfully said foe didn't spawn again). eventually it unlocked for me though, luckily.

I have encountered the following:

Several conversations have restarted even after affirmative action, ie killing the person I'm talking to.

Redcliffe encounter with the undead never ends making it impossible to continue without a reload.

Bodies disappearing, leaving just a floating bow and quiver.

Characters not speaking when they should, or even using other lines of dialogue spoken by other characters completely out of context.

A patch would be appreciated, and I have no doubt that one will be forthcoming. Well, that said, they never fixed the bug in ME where characters would just stop following you on one planet.

After talking to Irving and getting permission for Dagna to study at the circle, she was at both places.. Which was odd.. But not game breaking..

The loot bug is by far the most impacting one I have come across, but I am sure there are additional issues such as the DEX Bug..

It is just disheartening that there was time to complete DLC for the initial release.. But not properly debug the core game.. While I understand there were probably completely seperate teams working on these projects, I would hope Bioware sees how this looks from the consumer point of view and has placed a high priority on getting it fixed..

One thing that helped me with the loot lag was downloading the game to my HD. This seemed to help a great deal with loot, as well as out of combat delays seen in the Circle Tower Quest. Of course there is the benefit of much faster load times Image IPB

I think this might be a loading issue in general. There are several complaints about loading time in different areas. Have you tried copying the game to the hard disk instead of playing off of the CD?

I'm waiting for a patch before I start playing

Why would you wait to play such a good game? Regardless of the issues you can still enjoy the game.

To all the complaints regarding lack of testing:

Development and production companies have a time frame for release. Some companies (such as Wal-Mart) will agree to put a game on a shelf as long as it is released on a certain date. If the game is not released by that date then the company will refuse to sell the game at all. As I stated, Wal-Marx is a huge culprit of this. This results in a profit margin loss. They also have a budget set by the parent companies or by the production company. So, during crunch time you routinely have a smaller budget to work with. Which in turn means less hours available for testing or what have you.
As you fix certain bugs it may create 1 or more new bugs it takes time to find these bugs and figure out what went wrong in the alloted time frame. Remember you are human and so are they. No one is perfect. When have you ever seen a game that didn't have at least 1 bug?
Just be patient. They could have a fix that is currently in testing. As other people stated, Bioware has commented on bug(s) and they are working on a fix.
Remember, it's just a game. So have some fun!! Image IPB

I am playing from the HD now..

As for people waiting to play I kind of agree with that, and as much as I hate to I am going to wait on ME2. Reinforcing that this is acceptable is only going to encourage it in the future.. The fact is this game was released before it was ready, how there was staff available to complete the Wardens Keep DLC (Which many agree should have been part of the core game) but not enough staff to properly game test the core game? Bioware at one point was my pick for the best game company possibly ever, so many fantastic innovations but now it just feels like they are content to go through the motions which is disheartening.

When you look at games like Baldurs Gate, KoTOR, etc.. Then you look at things like ME1, and DA.. It's hard to NOT ask what happened..

This post has SPOILERS because my problems game at the end of the game, please do not read if it your problems come earlier.

I had glitches on the game ending - my choices throughout the game were completely disreguarded. Majorly, In plot changing ways I cannot discuss because putting a spoiler warning up just isn't good enough, and neither is a heartfelt apology.  So I had mysterious problems that made my game end as if the last 4 hours and all the choices were never done.

Someone said there was a problem with saves corrupting, and that may have caused it, I did notice that somehow I got items/talents in previous saves that I hadn't earned yet. Very weird.

I want a patch!! I want to get my true ending not all buggy.

edited to neuter the problem

Hopefully along with collecting game data they are collecting debug logs as well which should make it easier to ascertain tand fix these bugs. They have access to our savegames so they should be able to grab the data they need from that.

I encountered a bug in the Tavern at Lothering where I wasn't able to select anyone and when I opened the Radial menu it wouldn't work.  Reloading fixed this, yet it was acting sluggish, so I restarted the console which fixed it.

Of course this forum has some bugs itself with editing posts.

Also - has anyone noticed that equipping all four pieces of Blood Dragon Armor does not appear to provide any additional armor or defense benefit - despite the fact that the description says: "When all four pieces are equipped, the character gains a bonus to defense and armor." ??

If there's a cut-off I might as well take my game back to the store and sell it used. No point in holding onto something that has bugs and is unsupported.

There are a few bugs and glitches here already listed that seem to be annoying to plain stupid that it was missed.

The main problem I've been having (including some of the ones mentioned like the loot bags) is corrupt saves. Now this is a game breaker glitch. After a certain amount of time, weather its 10 to 100 hours the saves seem fine but when you reboot the Xbox or even back out to the main screen the save you want to load will say it's corrupt and will not load. This is not nice to have after investing 50 hours and I'm not the only one thinking this.

I've been around on the forums listing this issue among others and there's still no word from EA/BioWare to say whats happening/are they looking into it/are they aware of it even happening or are they ignoring it as they believe it's not an issue ?

The only thing I see with all these problems is that with the amount that they (EA/BioWare) have missed, this could cause to the time of having a patch released taking longer as for the patch I'd like to solve the save issue would need some work or better testing.

This should be some warning to any future releases like Mass Effect 2 as I'm so pissed off with all these bugs and glitches that I'm very disapointed and won't even pick up Mass Efect unless I hear good things and none of this annoyance and frustration.

Please do not take this the wrong way but did you abuse a glitch in Redcliffe to earn gold? I have talked to several people who have corrupted their game files and every one has taken advantage of this glitch. It would be good to establish if the corrupting files are soley as a result of using this glitch or if there are other factors involved.

Once you have the antidote in your inventory, click on the woman in the bed, not the herbalist. That should heal her.

It's slow to show up. Just like loot on dead bodies. close out the equip menu and walk around a bit then look again. You should have your bonus. It just doesn't show up immediately (you're talking about the Matching/set/gear bonus in the "positive attributes" where, say, song of courage or rock armor shows up, right?

I had a problem in redcliff where, in the castle, I never had the chance to loot the bodies after a certain fight, because it goes immediately to cutscene. A whole room full of bodies and loot disappears. It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't so hard to earn enough to buy all those really great items your char can use at the end.

Had the dagna glitch, sort of. She shows up at the circle with the quest marker on her, but only just goes on and on about how great it is, without closing the quest.

Also have a Noble birth quest in my journal about not getting the birthright for my son--this is only supposed to be a quest if you're a dwarf noble and I'm human. So after Orzimarr, why is it in my journal if I'm not that origin?

Slow bodies aren't a problem. I just cool off and let mana and energy restock until the bodies are looted. Unless I'm whizzed off into a cutscene where they disappear for good. Which really stinks.
