I'm pretty sure if EA hadn't bought up Bioware and then forced them to rush through this game so that they could release it we would have had a much better/smoother playing product. Nothing we can really do but pray that EA goes belly up and all the great game making companies they bought out turn around and buy EA out. ... mmm.. that thought gives me warm happy monkey bubble feelings.

Don't bet on it. EA's buying spree came right before the economic collapse. My money is on EA's developer purchases having saved those developers and their IPs from the financial ruin.

Bioware making a better/smoother playing product. Please tell me you're joking. Do me a favor, grab a copy of KotoR for the Xbox and pop it in your 360. Or play it on PC without any patching it. Is that the smoother play you're looking for? Bioware makes great games, but they're not perfect.

As far as EA being the great Satan, take a look at every other new IP game on the market and compare the quality of gameplay and software integrity. Every game is going to have glitches and bugs and shortcomings. New IP especially. It is this community "outrage" that makes publishers and developers reluctant to launch new IP.

To sum up. Less QQ, more pew pew.

Bioware was in no financial difficulty at all when EA bought them. In fact, the only reason EA got Bioware was because EA bought their parent company VG Holdings, which owned Bioware and Pandemic.

EA didn't buy Bioware or Pandemic, they bought VG Holdings to become the parent company of Bioware ( Pandemic was just a "necessary evil" which they recently desolved in the same manner as they desolved most companies they've bought over the years), therefore negating the need to negotiate with Bioware on purchasing terms, which means they had to give less concessions to Bioware than if they bought Bioware by itself.

Consider it a "hostile takeover",if you will.

For me, I can live with all of the rest of the bugs, but the dex bug for rogues is really hurting my replays. So far, I have played as a warrior and am finishing up the mage, but have been holding out on the rogue until the bug is fixed. Anyone get any clues as to when this will be fixed?

I've pretty much stopped playing midgame waiting for a patch. If there is a patch out soon i might buy that new dlc and finish the game. Otherwise i might just put the game on hold for now.

Really lousy bugtesting by bioware i have to say..

Bioware in both these cases were the game makers.. not producers or distributors..  Lucas Arts produced and distributed Kotor.. EA produced and distributed Dragon Age...    The money people are who is to blame..  game makers would happily sit around and work on a game until finished... it might take them 30 years.. but you'd have one fricken awesome game once they were done.  It's simply EA's fault.. they bought out a lot of companies who couldn't defend themesleves from it at the time.. just to make money.. and now are going broke.  Remember how hard Rockstar Games had to battle EA.  EA came swooping in and tried to buy them out knowing how big of a cash cow GTAIV would be. ..  I'm not saying EA are satan... I'm simply stating that they're jerks and a community has a right to be outraged because they are being treated badly by these jerks.

I think Bioware needs to pull an I.D. (for those of you aware of Wolfenstein and Doom) and have the good developers move onto better things.

The problem is that companies have unrealistic timelines and demands... does that mean you release a game that has bugs? No offense but I was an automotive engineer that saw vehicles released that had very serious, and might I add dangerous components but the almighty dollar talks more then even our safety.

Personally its getting out of control. They need to make money, but they also need to be realistic with thier requests rather then shovel everything under the carpet. I for one am growing increasingly frustrated with the lack of quality assurance of not just games but of everything in general.

More bugs, if people didn't already know.

I decided to go back and reload an old save 4 levels so I could make my guy an Arkain warrior and ended up with several bugs. Even though I had not unlocked Arkain warrior option 4 levels ago and never even stepped foot in the Dalish camp yet, it seems that now I have the ability to select that class without going to the area where it needs to be unlocked.

When I personally load my character up with the same types of gauntlets, boots and armor I do not get an attribute or plus for it while others in my party do. This is only for certain armors. Ancient Wardens armor gives non to anybody.

Also, I purchased a book from the DLC (soldiers peak) which involves the Healing Arts and grants a level up. Now that I went back 4 levels it no longer exists as a purchase option but I can still also select that class if I want. I didn't even own soldiers peak 4 levels ago and now there is no option to purchase this item. This sucks as I am no longer able to purchase the level up.

Not to mention, I have some blood magic, but you think he uses it when I command? Nope, sometimes he just stands there like an idiot.

Very buggy game... and I will loose it if my armor and chest at soldiers peak start to "BUG UP".... the more I look on these forums for answers the more bugs I read and the more perterved I get. Do I think a patch is required? Yes absolutely, 110%, especially after pulling this crap where they make you purchase the game and then a chest for the items you find. Total B.S.... you mean I have to lug around DLC (Blood Dragon Armor) until I have 36 strength or pay $7 for a chest and pray it doesn't dissapear on me. Nice scam! I remember when expansions took another DVD, now I'm paying $15 for a 5 minuit quest to save Shale and a storage chest for my items.

a bug even worse the the dex bug

the spell power bug associated with shape shifting, instead of using spell power it uses strength and since most mage players don't bother with strength the forms are useless

This is not a bug.

It is intended that way. Once you have unlocked a specialization, you can use it across all future playthroughs

It's sad to see companies caring more about money than their consumers, but it's no surprise. I mean sure make money, but at least offer SOME support for the people buying your games. It's been months and not a single patch has been released. If I hadn't transfered my saves to my memory card to bring to a friend's place I would've lost about 200 hours after my saves became corrupt, this is a good game but I'm going to trade it in soon if no patch is released.

The main glitch or whatever that has been bothering me is the waiting for a quest to update and the loot to show up on a corpse. One time it took up to 10 min for it to update D:! When I first started playing.. I didn know I had to wait for such a long time for the quest to update so I would leave the area and do something else later on finding out that it didn`t register and having to go back to the same place again.. annoying as hell !!! Now I don`t loot anything anymore onley if it`s something that will drop a plot item.

@GhostofItachi: Have the same problem, as do many others. Put me off using sleep and other spells/abilities that have stun effects, as many enemies have to wake up to die properly. It gets worse after long sessions, so try restarting the console for a quickfix. Hopefully the patch does something to fix this.
