There is very little information so far regarding Mass Effect 3 but I think initial impressions are always important.

I remember initial impressions for Dragon Age II were largely negative due to having a pre-determined character and dialogue wheel.  Lots of people saw that as a step back but there is already plenty of discussion bashing Dragon Age II so lets not get into that.

My impressions so far are overwhelmingly positive.  This is practically my dream come true.  The sequel is building upon the gameplay improvements of Mass Effect 2 while also going back to the series' RPG roots.  Really, it's everything a fan of the series could want!

The new art design for many of the enemies looks great and I'm glad that the game picks up right after the events of arrival.

Also I'm glad Cerberus's role in the storyline isn't being reduced despite the plot's emphasis on a Reaper invasion.

Also many of the fears gamers had initially about it being multi-player, it taking place mostly on Earth, squadmates not appearing have been debunked.

Casey Hudson is listening to Bioware fans and I really think Mass Effect 3 is going to be the game of the year assuming it makes it this year.  Especially better than that Witcher II crap that PC fanboys like to harp on about.  Seriously, the game's improved graphics have come at the expense of the environments which are far more claustrophobic and the only compelling looking feature are nude scrogging scenes.  The game is going to get pirated to Hell and then PC gamers are gonig to whine when Witcher III becomes a multi-platform release.  Screw that game!

Seriously though, Witcher II looks awesome and I'll buy the collector's edition day one but CD Projekt can go to Hell for trashing Bioware.  They should show mutual respect as fellow developers, especially since Bioware never talked trash about them.

I don't mean to offend personally.  Witcher II looks like a great game but it can still go to Hell.  Bioware has never trashed another company except Square/Enix and they deserved it.  CD-Projekt shouldn't disrespect Bioware's work.  They even trashed Dragon Age:Origins so I don't want to hear any Bioware bashers say this is all about Dragon Age II.

I'm pretty excited. Everything I've heard so far seems pretty good, except Cerberus hunting down Shepard. I hope there's a good reason for that.

Was this at all necessary? You already conveyed your idea, now it just looks like you want an argument.

So far, everything I've seen/read has either been "definitely good," "good if done right," and "hey, I'm cool with it." Nothing has raised any "this is a bad idea" flags yet.

In other words: I'm positive about ME3.

Pretty much this.  It's going to be a long 8 (or so) months.

Too early to judge for me. Pictures are likely inaccurate to be the final product visually, and who is to say they won't be cutting what they're saying exists now? Just look at some of the cut content for previous games.

I just rebuilt my canon Shep in ME1 and spent the last day or so completing the game so I can import him to ME2, like I had on my original 360. I did a lot of the sidequests, so YAY! Moar dialog options! ^_^

But yeah, I think I'll go through once on Veteran, try Hardcore again (I was stuck at Horizon), and finally I'll tackle Insanity head-on for the first time. That should keep me occupied for a while while I wait for ME3.

I'm curious why Cerberus turned on Shepard. It may be something along ths line of the Illusive Man needing something from Shepard's visions that he didn't know about until Mass Effect 3 begins. I could live with this, because in this scenario it makes sense for TIM to bring Shepard back only to turn on him later.

I may not be as hyped I used to for ME3, but there's no doubt it's going to blow the other ships out of the water. All across the board, it's looking like the closest thing to Mass Effect Perfection.

I want to see Miranda as a party member for the whole game though. At least in the playthroughts she was loyal.

I was just pre-empting the inevitable Witcher II snobbery that has been flooding these forums.

This reason is the type of reason I'm hoping for: It's believable and nods back to ME1. Just as long as there's a reason for TIM to turn on shep and there isn't a lot of railroading, I'm totally cool with it.

What? The only thing that makes this "Witcher II snobbery" inevitable is your statement.

I love playing it, though the Elcor loyalty mission is a bit too easy.

So far I'm expecting dragon age origins in space. You go around recruiting allies for an army to stop the threat and have to deal with every one of their problems before they join you.
