Why is it that the music at the end of this sound trailer...the one that also plays at the end of Mass Effect 1, just makes saying normal things...so epic?

This IS really awesome. Mass 3 is so going to fulfill my dream from way back in 2006. It's been a crazy ride...thank you for your time building this truly inspirational game!

Sound
Sound is one of two most importaint thing in game, or film, or life.
that is why you should pay more attentiong to it. Without proper support of sound everything falls apart.
You have to feel the moment, capture it and open illusive road to human heart!!
I dont think any other game Had that much sound in history of games...

In ME2 sound was everywhere! and it was  almost perfect.
Just kiding. "perfect" does not exist in this universe.

Sound is a catalist fr our feelings so please do NOT temper with it to much. find a balance.
Spicy food is tasty but would you eat it if it was to hot ? or too salt ? or too sweet? Could you?
Balance

Btw Loved The sound of Widow 89, her reloading sond, The sound of perfect round pircing geth armor.

I want to hear it all nao!!!

Rob, are you guys changing the sounds from the ground up or tweaking the existing audio using different modulation, EQ's and compressors to really make things pop out?

Depends on the content, but usually both. We have a lot of new cool features with our ME3 audio system so have way more options in regards to effects and mixing... but we're also improving the quality of the core assets too. Don't worry, we're not going to go changing the style drastically or anything... things are just sounding much cleaner, punchier, bassier, more focused and other nice words like that :)

What about the sounds of the battlefield? How are you guys handling the different volumes of different guns? Are there weapons that should be louder than the others? And background sounds and voices of characters in all that chaos.

Sounds pretty good. The Mass Effect 3 sound department is one of the few I'm pretty calm and confident about. Sound has been great and, more important, pretty unique in the games so far.

Yet I have to be honest, I think Mass Effect's (1) sound engine was better. It was incredibly buggy (for a 5.1 setups with non-Creative Audigy sounds cards, at least), sure, but on those occasions when it did work, it was better in sound quality. Sound effects had more of a punch and sounded a bit clearer than in Mass Effect 2. Just my humble opinion.

Rob, are we going to hear "Don`t fear the Reaper" when we will engage the reaper? Sound effects are nice, but what hardware are going to duke it out in the end user`s home with maximum efficiency?

You`ve got a hell of an sound editing equipment out there, can we expect that ASUS Xonar Essence STX/ASUS Xonar HDAV1.3 Deluxe coupled with Edifier S550 or Microlab H-600 can translate this awesome sound succesfully?

Edifiers are picking minimum 20 Hertz, while microlab is bit worse at 35 Hertz, can they handle this in every detail?

As for the Xonar STX - is with measured dB of 116.7@192khz that is pretty nice, but is this enough? or we shoult get something like E-MU 1616M?

Under the command of our handsome lead, Rob Blake, I'm handling the weapon audio for ME3, so I thought I'd come say hi and that I'm glad you all seem to like the new assault rifle :)

Let me know if you have any favorites from ME2 (though I can't take credit for them), I'm very interested in which ones struck a chord. I played infiltrator on my first ME2 playthrough, and I have to agree that the Widow is a beefy kind of wonderful. Oh, and Rob wasn't kidding about the biotics/powers sounding waaay better... Get a new subwoofer and prepare for a body massage!!

Yessir the Claymore shotgun...  always a pleasure to hear that beast when ruining an enemy's day.  Some more bang like that (maybe even more bang in some new weapons) would be awesome!

I actually liked the sound of the Handcannon - it sounded powerful without overdoing it (like the Phalanx :P).

Revenant also. That sounded.... like it meant business.
