While you are at it, would you mind looking for my friend Bob's corpse?

I think I may have dropped it near Lirene's Ferelden Imports while shopping for groceries in Lowtown.

You display dreadful manners, good sir, leaving your friend Bob to rot for all the Fereldan Kirkwaller gentlefolk to see. I managed to bring back his left arm and three toes, but the rest seems to have fallen off as I dragged the body here...

Oh, sorry I don't have them, I had to draw another map for the Wounded Coast, as I lost the other two maps I drew before. Hey! Maybe my maps are with your pantaloons! I need those maps, I have such a bad memory, you see. I have been there two other times, but still I forget my way. Sad really.

:lol:Spoken like a true Hawke.

I always wondered why Hawke didn't get arrested for carrying a corpse over his shoulder, looking for just the right person to hand it off to...

The pantaloons weren't by any chance woven by 15 women and a small boy from Calimshan over 12 days and 4 nights, were they?

I think I saw an angry blond elf carrying off the rest of the body muttering about now being able to finishing off decorating the foyer of his house.

ROFL!!!

And Bob did you say? My, my, you should keep better track of him...don't ya know? Oh wait, was he lying in a back room in the Pearl in Denerim?  Sad to say, I think I dumped him down the well in the Chantry there with three of his friends....or was that in another incarnation?  See, there's my pesky memory problem rearing its ugly head again!:o

Sadly, no... if you could enlighten us ignorant heathens, we might even happen to know what you're referring to, if not the specific reference. =]

Ah, and there we see the crux of the matter. I have most definitely not played BW games predating DA and ME. In fact, I only went back and played the ME series because I found out how awesome great Bioware was after playing and falling in love with DAO.

If I had to guess, I'd say a large portion of the community nowadays on the forums hasn't played older BW stuff like BG, NVN, etc. We've only more recently been brought into the fold of BW fandom. In fact, I was quite surprised by how many people on here are long-term old-school BW fans, I figured most of you guys would've left the forums after a few years because you got bored of seeing the same stuff discussed so often.

Nah.

Unlike most online boards, the Bioware ones usually manage to retain a very low level of trolling, and a high level of intellectual discussion. Makes them a much better place for talking about anything than other boards I can think of - if that kind of thing appeals to you.

For reference though, I'm only 24 years old (just!). I've been playing Bioware games since I was about...oh maybe 12 or so?

I don't agree with your assessment that a 'large' portion of the community hasn't played their older stuff though. I think you'd find a surprisingly large portion of the community have been Bioware fans for awhile, even if they haven't been here from the start.

Speaking of which...wasn't there supposed to be a Mirabelle reference in relation to Bianca in this game? I could have sworn I heard a developer talking about that in an interview...

Sorry, I'm talking to myself now!

Yes, that's true. Merril asks why Varric chose the name Bianca...He claimed that Mirabelle was taken. Posted Image

Oh, I didn't mean to imply you, or the others who played the older games, were "old," just that you were old-school, purely in terms of being BW fans.

As for the assessment of fans, it certainly could be. I definitely wouldn't have expected as many older BW fans(pre-ME/DA) on here as there are, so I could be mistaken about my current estimate as well.

Yeah, it could also just be that the majority of the newer ME/DA fanbase don't use the forums very much.  I find that a good proportion of people on these boards are quite long term fans.

Not that that means anything!  Happy to have you here! Posted Image

Laughed my pantaloons off  when I came across that reference. Fondly remember the start of my pantaloon collection at the Friendly Arms Inn (if I'm not very mistaken about the place, it's been so long.. :)).

Tis indeed the Friendly Arm Inn where you pick up the sacred Golden Pantaloons.  It was many years and 2 games later when their purpose was finally revealed!

Dear Sir,

As it happens, I have discovered a corpse that may be likened to that of your friend "Bob". Unfortunately, due to the current economic climate (the values of corpses, feathers and moth-eaten scarves are not what they once were), I am afraid I must ask for an advance of 5 sovereigns. To cover the cost of postage, you understand. I am a very busy woman in Kirkwall (these blood mages will not fight themselves!) and cannot take the time to visit you in person, I am sorry to say.

Please forward payment to the Hawke Estate.

All the best to you.

Serah Hawke
