Yep. Gets to anims.erf then erfs out of the install. I'm on XP with pretty new hardware and all updated drivers (so dont go there please lol), tried copying the CD to a temp folder but it stops at the core.rar (which anims.erf is inside of) with a CRC error. There are corrupted files on the disc, no doubt about it. I can't copy, unzip or test core.rar with 7zip.
So I'm at a loss. This game is nearly two years old and there's no fix for this yet? I'm starting to get frustrated with PC games in general, seems every one has to have some jerry-rigging done to it to work. Lovely how you cant take PC games back to the store eh? Hey EA, wanna come over to my house and take all my stuff while you're at it? Maybe I'll need to put in a activation code to use my toilet and then it wont flush. 40 bucks down the drain, thanks guys.
Well look it's another Da:O UE Will Not Install thread

Quick update for those with the same issue...
Well I resorted to using my game serial code to download the entire game even though I went and got a (corrupted file-ridden P.O.S) physical copy...big game, so it took all night as expected, apparently they have deemed to fix the broken files in the digital copies of the game (wow thanks for thinking of us guys, you're so thoughtful) and I got it installed and running...with ALL of the DLC still being unauthorized even after inputting my given code (yaaay more bull****- this is just a party so far) and even now, every time I try to start the game AFTER it worked fine once on the very highest settings, the game spits out an error about my game being misconfigured and quits.
Now this isnt too horrifying as I can load up the config menu and change the resolution to something lower and then the game will start after a couple of tries.
I just don't get why this is happening though. Big company, succesful franchise, then I go out and get the thing and it's yanking my scrotum at every turn. At least it kind of works, should I be grateful I can crank it up after a few times lol... my god PC gaming is just a huge hassle now.

Curious... are you using XP 64-bit?

Nah it's regular old XP 32 bit home edtition.
Even being able to run the game now, the sound still cuts out after about five minutes...all the cut-scenes are just people standing around looking at each other with their mouths open and have to hit ESC to get through the dialouge. All this fuss, and tbh this game isnt even that cool. I'm a 33 year old guy, not a 14 year old kid...I know good rpg experience when I see one and this is not even close. It's made for kids. Elder Scrolls beats this with a Daedric mace enchanted with constant effect ass-kicking. Wish I could just get a refund and buy some other game with my money...Here's to Skyrim beating the snot out of this franchise when it comes out. [cheers]\\
Sadly though, I will buy ME3 because THOSE games work great and have never given me **** ABOUT AN INSTALL. YOUR GAME WOULDNT EVEN INSTALL, DO YOU HEAR ME? How is it that a person can run ME2 with the settings cranked, and yet Dragon Age wont even install? Maybe you Bioware execs should look at a few guys over in the DA office and do some serious evaluations on who the hell is actually doing a good job here. It's pretty goddamn pathetic from my view.
