Well, they can put Gaider in charge instead and DA3 preorders will be sky-high.
I'm serious, people seem to hate Laidlaw but adore Gaider. Maybe because writers are the only people who did their job really well in this game.

While I don't agree with your last statement, I do believe that's what would happen with pre-orders should BioWare make such an annoucement.  But I don't think any announcement like that is forthcoming.

But, let's say that's what happened.  If DA3 is imperfect in any way, then they will begin to blame Gaider.  Why?  Because some people just need a "bad guy" in their lives so that they can feel like the "good guy".  They would just be replacing one bad guy for another, in this case, without really increasing their own status at all.

Yes.... but is Bioware/EA an democracy? That in itself should be your answer...

No, it's a business that wants to make money, and they just annoyed their core audience and didn't make bank like they expected to.

Here's a strong suggestion.

If your entire contribution to a thread is to pop in, make what you consider a pithy comment and then post a gif you no doubt painstakingly made of one of the developer's faces, you might be spamming.

And if that's what you choose to do, then you will be doing it elsewhere.

I wouldn't talk poorly about a game PUBLICALLY I was a part of so soon after release when sales can still be affected. What do you expect djwyattwood?

right now, i dont expect any sort of criticism until maybe 9 to 12 months down the road.

I work for a multi-million dollar company that spans the globe. When you talk to us and we've made a mistake, we try our best to rectify that mistake. That is no lie.

What is it you expect him to do? Come to your house and reprogram the game to your liking? Publicly trash his own company in a major gaming site interview?

The first is obviously ridiculous and the second would get him fired, so neither will happen. Get used to it.

This is what I would like:
1) Admit mistakes made.
2) Attempt to patch mistakes made.
3) Don't make same mistakes.

Is that unreasonable?

it amaze's me no one has said this
but i will say it non the less

you have to see this from every p.o.v. the fans swear and curse mike and bioware mike gets angry and starts to rant and rave and defend him self best he can
but no one not one person has said hey stop lets talk about this instead of ****ing at eachother over a bunch of animated pixels

if the customers would just clam down and speak clamly i am sure mike laidlaw and biowear/ea and so forth would give better "nicer" answers to our questions right now forums are a battle filed no one is listing to any body and nothing is helping
act like adults and work things out with no violent words

Dalria, there are 80+ pages of very nicely written constructive criticsm stickied here, and as yet, no response to any of them. So, I call into doubt your assertion that they would do anything differently "if the customers would just clam (sic) down".

+1 They may or not may be read - but we haven't even seen the slightest clue that Bioware has taken note of the criticism - well, except for praises that is.

I've mentioned a few times that they're being read. Beyond that, I'm not sure what you're expecting at this point - any changes that are made as a result of feedback and issues we want to address will be clear with the next product release, and no doubt if those changes are deemed important enough to discuss they will be talked about at length.

At the moment, though, there's not much else we can say beyond 'we're reading and listening.' And we have said that. Multiple times.

People are passionate. That's good! Of course, the personal attacks become a little tiresome, not to mention that they tend to lead to an immediate discounting of someone's opinion.

Most people restrict themselves to discussing the game and the issues they have with it. That's good, useable feedback, and they make up the majority of those on the forum in the 'negative' camp. It's, unfortunately, the few but vocal that figure that attacking specific people is going to give their point any more weight.

And that, Mr. Epler, is why you're the most awesome BioWare employeePosted Image

John is right. Attacking specific people doesn't give their point any more weight. It's just petty and down right childish. It's like me pointing a finger at the OP of this thread and saying "You stole my toy. Give it back" without any proof that the person actually stole something that belonged to me.

Maybe Mister Laidlaw does believe what he is saying interviews, maybe he doesn't. We the consumers DON'T really know. All we can do is read what is stated in interviews and try to discern if he's sincere or if he's just spouting what he's been told by EA/Bioware.

Yes many people are unhappy with how the game turned out. Many people enjoyed the game for what it is or was. Yes the game has problems with bugs and feels rushed and probably was rushed. The fact of the matter is, attacking a single person or thing doesn't make the point have anymore weight. All it does is call attention to yourself and make the person attacking another person look foolish and childish.

What is needed is calm, cool, collected heads and reasoning. Not anger, and finger pointing. Not ranting and raving and name calling and bashing or threats. Threats get you no where, ranting and raving get you no where. Talking it out, pointing out the flaws in a game in a calm and cool manner will.

Example you are at work and a co-worker pisses you off, you go off on them. What happens? Your boss hears about it, you get reprimanded, maybe told to go home, or fired.

Example 2, same scenario but different reaction. Your co-worker pisses you off, but you take the time to breath in and breath out and calm yourself before addressing your co-worker and explaining to him/her what he/she has done wrong and trying to work through it. Consequences are yes it takes you a bit of time to calm down but in the long run you work through the problem but you don't lose your job or have something permanent go on your work record. Instead it looks to your boss that you are a team player, you can work through problems and work with people who stress or anger you instead of being a complete jerkwad.

In the end anger solves nothing.

@JohnEpler: I've mentioned it by now countless times before, and over half the times caught flak over it from people whom liked DA2, but what Mike does in interviews is just bad business. For example, the latest interview (I don't have the magazine myself, so I can't check it) with Game Informer: http://uk.gamespot.c...594&pid=988968.

Stuff like that gets people angry - some more then others. And since Mike said such stuff, he gets the flak for it. That noone in the PR-department told him yet to calm it a bit down, is beyond me - since I only need to google and the majority of the reviews who either were negative or so-so, went completely negative when Mark's first comments started to hit the shelves.

@Heather. One big flaw in your reasoning: we're not employees working besides BW (although we try to  provide feedback and ideas), we're customers. So we expect an solid product - and due to the varying standards of people some call it 'solid' (or better), and some don't.

I'm in neither camp, then. I'm just really apathetic towards it.

And how the hell is BioWare going bankruptPosted Image In fact, aren't they laughing all the way to the bank?
