Hey guys, Im new 'round here.  I certainly hope this is the right place to post this, as its kinda artwork...  I absolutely love DAO and DA2, and I like to celebrate by making costumes.  I was making grey warden themed templar armor (The DAO version) for PAX east in Boston this year, but I couldn't finish it in time, so I am now trying to finish it in time for Anime Boston (Anime isn't really my thing, but Ill use any excuse to wear a costume).   Anyways, I thought you guys might like to see the shield I made:

Its all hand made out of paper mache.  The griffon was a hand made stencil that I spraypainted on.  I coudn't make the gold outer designs as detailed as the actual picture, but I think it looks good.  The ring just outside of the silver part is a leather twine that I wrapped around a small wire.

If you guys like, I can post other pictures, I have been keeping progress picures from the start, and I will have other armor pieces as I finish them.

Let me know what you think!

EDIT:

Heres me at Anime Boston this year.  camera wasn't the best quality, I'll try to get a better picture later:

That looks badass. I actually couldn't tell it was paper mache until I looked again. Can't wait to see the rest of it.

Thanks! The shield took me about a month, I really took my time with it, and it was the first time I worked with paper mache in this fashon. The armor is being rushed a bit, so it isn't quite as good as I want, but it still looks pretty good:

Minus the red tape of course, and it looks better in person. The bit on the left side under what will be the right shoulder pad is fast mache, which I have to use to speed things up since I only have 2 more nights. The white paper parts will be silver and theres still a few more parts to add. I'm also going to drag some silver paint down the middle of the sword, and some black lines with silver billets for the arm guards. If you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them.

Added a picture of me ad AB

I want to make the shoulder pad bigger, still have to make some boots too, and I might make a helm.  Anyone have any other suggestions?  I had to rush it to complete this much in time for Anime Boston, but now I have all the time in the world to make it better!
