I loled when the tutorial in DA2 is actually called "The Art of War". How stupid do they think we are?
Do you really want me to answer that? I think the answer is damned obvious.

I guess it was part of that think fight a Spartan thing the devs thought we'd enjoy.![]()
I like DA2 really. But it was not the game they were saying it was.

Think like a general, fight like a Spartan.
Shame on you for forgetting the things that Hawke never even came close to doing.

Well...we get to do it a smidge to the Arishok. A very thin smidge.

KoP should work for Bioware. Actually, a lot of people on the forums should work for Bioware.
Mass gathering at Bioware HQ anybody?
I may end up being too political (check Arcturus blog in my sig).
You know, the kind of stuff where pressing a button does not automatically result in something AWESOME.

Yea I am sure spartans dueled their opponents by running around in circles and yelling "cheater!" everytime they use a potion (even though you use a dozen).
But Hawke can claim to have fought in a Soul Calibur-esque kind of duel.

I don't know about your Hawke, but my Spirit-Bloodmage Hawke didn't use a single potion. Never had to. His health regeneration (even without healing aura) is so high, that he can snipe (with cold-blooded) with impunity and cast Petrify and Haste over and over again and never run out of health.....even the occational hit the Arishok lands is recooped quickly. Of course this is a mage with over 300 health at the time........

Why can't Hawke deal with the nobility of Hightown, the Dwarven Merchants Guide through Varric, Anders in the clinic working with the refugees and the people of Darktown, and the elves of the Alienage could have been addressed in Hawke's rise to power that never was?

Yea, my blood mage also didn't have to use potions, except once when the Arishok caught him in a strange grapple impalement move that looks kind of ridiculous and which takes out about half his health.
But other than that, it was easy. But a bit long and tedious. Still much better than the Harvester and Meredith. At least I felt something for my opponent.

It's not like that was the first over-the-top attack in the DA series. The High Dragon OM NOM NOMMING the Warden on top of the mountain was pretty over the top.

At least it's feasible for a dragon that size to om nom nom the Warden. The Arishok impaling Hawke, lifting him with one arm and hitting him with the other?
Then again, blood wound has Hawke self-impale.

Hawke: And I'm perfectly fine! It's magic!
Anders: Yea it's blood magic you idiot....
Hawke: Shut up Anders, you have no cat!
*Anders slinks off into a corner*
Varric: So Hawke, you having fun pulling a Grace?
Hawke: Yup.

You're not thinking outside the box! In DA:O we had the Arcane Warrior class that blurred the line between the Warrior and Mage.
Imagine a Rogue/Mage crossclass. It would probably be horribly OP and cliche, but the coolness factor would overshadow this completely.

Because DA2 is supposed to be the necessary introduction of a conflict. It had to start regardless of what Hawke does.
I wouldn't mind that much, if at least the conflict was well portrayed and Hawke was a bit more pro-active, which was not the case.
