Just sometimes?

Hard to say, there are many philosophical ideas ranging from Epicurus who states that happieness is gained from having friends,self-reliance,time to reflect and independence.

there are few who say it's impossible due the very cynical, harsh existence of life itself. Love was never meant to be a joyful thing but yet it becomes a very dismal reality when a person cannot find love or they lose love (sexual mate), both scenarios are inevitable in life.

For me, I'm a Niezsehe (*cough*, excluding the right-winged beliefs).

Epic +1.

Admittingly, seeing your enemies falter before you can bring a sort of spiteful satisfaction. But I 'm just an over-competitive ****.

Modesty.

As in, a Porsche, a villa, a yacht aren't needed to make me believe I led a fulfilling life.

That said, I don't think there is a universal truth that applies to everyone.

Winner.

But seriously, there is no secret. It's all in your head, so you decide.

My personal secret?

A balanced point of view. For example, avoid complaining as much as possible, and instead follow the 3 A's when presented with a problem.

Alter the problem with a solution of your own.
Avoid the problem altogether.
Accept, and live with the problem.

Yeah, **** that. It's killing other because they're a different color, holding grudges, hating yourself, hating everything in general and negative energies. That's what leading a happy life is all about.

Do what thou will is the whole of the law.

Speak quietly and carry a severed head.

If in doubt cut their jacobs off and feed them to the pigs Errol.

The triumvirate of a contented life.

Recognizing that less than 100 years after you die, you will be completely forgotten. Sure there are exceptions, but how many famous people from 1911 do YOU know of? How many of your own ancestors who died in 1911 do you even know the names of? Nothing we do matters for very long.

So no matter how happy, unhappy, rich, poor, powerful, helpless, smart, stupid, beautiful, ugly, loved, unloved or whatever else we think we are, no one is going to care after we're gone. Live your life, this one life. Live the hell out of it. Then live it some more. You don't get a do-over. Spend as little time wallowing in regret, shame, fear, grief, resentment, and anger as humanly possible. Then get back to living.

I'm going to take the contrarian view and say that you should harness your anger and hate to achieve greater success. And when you do, it makes you feel very happy. Control it, don't let it control you.

"No more are the days that I will

Fear for I have found a strength that

None can match and I'll push further

Now I feel the passion burning

This what drives me further

Strengthens my resolve to push me further"

Knowing when to let things go.
Really, stress is a killer and I find so many people I know could be so much happier, or least have a lot less complaining to do, if they could just let some issues go. We can't control everything.

According to Gallup, statisticly speaking, the road to happiness is to become "a tall, Asian-American, observant Jew who is at least 65 and married, has children, lives in Hawaii, runs his own business and has a household income of more than $120,000 a year."

Personally, I think the trick is to not overthink things, watch plenty of cartoons and stay out of flame wars.

Yeah, **** that. Hating yourself, holding grudges, killing people that are a different color than you, holding onto hate and other negative enegies. That's the path to true happiness.
