Unexpected reinforcements arrive through a relay to aid the Normandy SR2 in their fight against some Reapers. Imagine it!
That, or, I could see Shepard defeating a Reaper and then watching the aftermath; They've won a bloody battle; But all the Reaper forces on the horizon have been annihilated and what remained is now in full retreat.
As for some Combat themes:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iv69M9kxnk4 (Could also work for vehicle combat; Imagine fighting through a city's streets while it is under attack, in a vehicle, maybe also trying to get quick to the end of the level, like in Illos.)

A chase theme, which could also work for combat, I guess:

And a dark, ominous theme that makes it sound as if danger is looming around:

I just hope they don't go orchestral generic bull**** like every other EPICK game out there.
I disagree.
....... Orchestral video game music is the goosebump theme out there!. Non-Orchestral Music does not have that Music that ''Sucks you into the game engaging interacting'' Orchestral does that however.

I said generic. If they want to make it orchestral then make it BRILLIANT or don't make it at all.

^ This.
The orchestral music in ME1 was all pretty iconic, and played at key moments... much of the orchestral music in ME2 was made for combat sequences, and it tended to sound pretty bland. The standouts were "Suicide Mission", "Humans Are Disappearing", "Reflections", "Normandy Attacked", etc... I found most of the character themes were just generic orchestral compositions, though.

I'm sure I mentioned this before, but if this below is not tailor made for the scene where Earth and Shepard's army first sees this vast army of Reapers descending out of the clouds and realizes as a civilization how dire things are, then I don't know what is:

If you had to end up sacrifing your loved one or yourself to make sure he/she ends up being safe. Particulary the scene after, showing how the individual would react:

Funny, the composer for your sacrifice pick is composing for ME3.spiros9110 wrote...
This one is more for the romance side, say an epic/emotional draining night before the "last" battle or something. That's the feel I get anyway, especially the saxophone

I think this would be a pretty good tune for a scouting mission, maybe through some caved-in resistance base on Earth.
(Into the Trees - Trentemoller)
I could see this as a chase song; I'd just speed up the tempo a bit.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2m9aZwQOFwM&feature=related (The Very Last Resort - Trentemoller)
Could see this toward the end of the game, maybe leading up to a big fight. Have a heated exchange going down between Shepard and some villain.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_JDF3GvaDQ (Velius - Helios)
This song I can see happening between an LI and Shepard, as they're taking a tired drive through a city. Picture a moody cutscene: They're talking quietly about things, neon lights blurring into an oil-painting outside the windows of their skycar.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7ibKiIA-rY&feature=related (In Heaven - Helios)
I can see this a lead-in to an arced ending-theme.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmE7vo3aBko&feature=related (Rising Wind - Helios)
Again, maybe a part of an arced end-theme.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSX6JsnodPk&feature=related (Nightmare 5 - Eluvium)
Think this would best fit a death-scene of some sort. Maybe Shepard stumbles across a mass-grave of colonists or something. Just something dreary.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49nOrloGTo8&feature=related (Continuum - Amplifier)
Pretty decent contender for an ending theme.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KU5hlK0Y6VA (World of Sleepers - Carbon Based Lifeforms)
I see this playing after an attack on some world by the Reapers. Shepard sees from the Normandy a wasteland of decimated ships and spaced bodies--a result of them not heeding his word the Reapers were coming. Title of the song fits, too. "World of Sleepers".
