Well yeah , I'm trying to record some cutscenes in 720p with stereo sound. Its so pissing me off >_>

But however it doesnt work... I get a audio track but the audiotrack appears to be empty... i was like okay?!

SO i thougth its a Fraps related issue but ive tried recording in other games too like... Assassins Creed 2 , GTA IV there it works ... it only doesnt work for Mass Effect 2 Id like to know why that is so? I'm using sony vegas to render those Videos.

I also tried to record in Multichannel (5.1) But that doesnt seem to work either with Fraps lol so i sticked to Stereo.

Oh imma upload a pic of the Audi and Videotrack in Sony vegas.

Now you can see what i mean,  its like fraps cant hear any sound in game... but it creates a audio track at least.

I hope you guys can help me thanks in advance!

Iv'e had similar issues and the only thing i can think of is open up control panel and click on stereo, click on sound button then on recording and select disabled devices and be sure that everything is set to default. I hope this help otherwise i can't help you.

Check the sound control panel to see that everything is as it should be if you are unsure set everything to default in my case i had accidently changed the default setting

BTW, what audio device do you use.

Okay, i explained myself bad on fraps you cannot change settings more than those you already see but if fraps doesn't work try Fraps Version 3.4.2. and edit it in virtualdub it's free and work great (atleast for me) but it will require some codecs to work correctly both Divx and Xvid are great.

BTW, If no version of fraps works for you, the only thing i can think of is to both Record and Edit in virtualdub, one last thing is your version of audio card old ? you maybe have to change card to a newer and you should consider to contact support to see if your card works with ME 2.

Well I get True 5.1 Sourround in game.. it just doesnt record it thats the problem. The thing is it used to work on mass effect a few month ago... this problem just happened recently... i dont know what changed.

Fraps only has two options anyway. 'record win 7 Sound' or 'record external input' I always have Win7 sound checked + Stereo since 5.1 doesnt work anyway (it doesnt work with other games as well)

Edit: I tried to record with external input by choosing Asus stereo mix , now it records! but the Sound quality is AWFUL  :(

I already had the latest driver for my soundcard, too!

Trying to find out why 3rd party software doesnt work with ME2 is not a tech issue for these forums. Take it up on the Fraps forums, you will have more success in getting results.

Hey guys i think i noticed what the real problem is, i dont think it has to do with fraps but with Mass effect 2 , i have noticed that ME2 isnt listed in my audio devices when im running it. Of course Fraps cant record anything if Win7 doest list ME2

But why the hell isnt ME2 listed in my audio devices but every other game is?!

Ok Guys I found the solution, I just simply run ME2 as Administrator and the Sound recording worked again!
