I just downloaded and started playing DA:Orgins Ulimate this morning. After running into some issues DLC content being authorized which was fixed by the help of EA support I was able to play the game. I just realized a little while ago that I didn't have the blood dragon chest piece in my female elf's inventory. So i tried to apply the fix provided by Bioware.

http://help.dragonag...or-female-elves

That resulted in an error.

Then I tried to apply the 1.0.4 patch. That also resulted in an error when it was searching for \\Progam Files (x86)\\Common Files\\BioWare\\Uninstall Dragon Age.ext (Bioware doesn't exist in this path). I choose ignore.

Not only don't have the chest piece, but the game won't start now.

There is a problem with your game's setup. Please reinstall your game.

wtf

27gb download again?

Any advice?

Ugh. It appears, based on several posts, that applying the 1.04 on top of Ultimate Edition causes some significant issues. So far as I have seen, the only option is to do a full uninstall and reinstall.

Where did you download the game from? Is it using the EA Download manager? If so, it may have saved the local files, so reinstalling may not be catastrophic, bandwidth-wise.

EA download manager. I'm currently downloading the 27gb again. I backed the important stuff. I was really digging this game up until the file corruption. Now I remember why I played games on my xbox/ps3 instead of a PC :).

Thanks for the reply!

No problem.  There is an option in the configuration menu of EADM that lets you save your installation files... it obviously takes up much more space.  I don't know if you can set it to do so once you've initiated a download, however.

Which error?  Please see the Read First post pinned to the top of the forum (or check the Solutions Round-Up thread first, also pinned to the top of the forum).  We'd be happy to help, but right now I don't know if your game isn't starting or you are missing Blood Dragon Armor or if it is something else entirely.
