I just finished the silverite mines segment and would like to travel back to vigil keep.  Unfortunately the zone does not load.  My party travels to the area on the over world map and then game attempts to load the zone but never loads and eventually just stalls out.  I can travel to other areas on the map however.  I've tried switching party members.  I do not have any mods going.  But this is a game ending bug for me.

I've searched the forums but I haven't been able to find anyone else having this issue.

So, I gave up and restarted the game.

Unfortunately the bug persists. After traveling to Amarathine, something triggers and I am unable to return to Vigil's Keep. So what can I do? Do I just give up on Awakening altogether?

It happened on a second play through now. Very early on in the game. I did the smugglers quest and then talked to the wolf guy and after that vigil keep just stalled while loading.

If you have any mods installed, look to those as the prime suspects.  If not, then it may be easiest to do a complete uninstall and reinstall of the game.  If you want to post your hardware specs, OS information, and what version of UE you have (disc, digital download, Steam), we can speculate further.

Also, have you had any other issues lately (crash to desktop, audio problems, etc)?

I got the game off of steam. Other than not loading vigil keep, everything has worked fine so far through the first game and into the expansion, so I doubt it is hardware related. I verified the integrity of the game, so it seems to be installed correctly.

I'm pretty sure it has to have something to do with a quest related script trigger somehow going bonkers when I return to vigil keep.

I was hoping that someone had had a similar experience to mine, but I haven't been able to find anything.

Yeah... I haven't seen anything like that, either.  My thought, actually, is that some game files got moved or corrupted (I am not sure if Steam would catch that or not)... if I recall correctly, Vigil's keep changes slightly over time, as the game progresses.  Mods, even mods one would think has nothing to do with anything area-related, can occasionally cause such occurances.  If you're using XP 64-bit, that's been known to cause a lot of headaches, although mainly with installation.

Beyond that I am not sure what to suggest other than the aforementioned uninstall/reinstall... which I realize is a major pain if you're dealing with a digital download.  Hate to say it... have you checked the Steam forums?
