I miss the battle of ostagar where Duncan did that epic squint at the enemy before he died. :( I miss origins!

Being dead hasn't stop bioware from resurrecting a character before.

aka Lelianna, who will get a dlc explaining why her inability to die is by design not glitch

Well its clearly not a glitch because she addresses being 'dead' in her dialogue.

But should be a fun story regardless.

Bring Duncan back, but only as a prequel to DA:O. He's dead, he wouldn't leave his weapons and armor behind in a wieldable/usable state... Just my opinion.

Duncan is dead and gone. It's been confirmed by devs. There's no way he is coming back.

Your best hope would be a relative of Duncan.

Duncan is dead, and despite him being one of the best characters in DA universe, it's how it should be. It makes his death in Ostagar have that much more of a impact. That and even if he survived he would be dead by now due to the taint be in him for so long.

I think that they did a good job in establishing Duncan was dead - either by the greataxe cleaving his head, or by putting out there that he was close to his calling. I love Duncan, and despite the Return to Ostagar being a complete and utter disappointment (why is Alistair so concerned for Cailan and never utters a word when we find only Duncan's weapons?), I can accept that he is dead. I would hate for Bioware to resurrect him - 10 years later! - being a ghoul and such.

Duncan was a typical Obi Wan character albiet a good one. It's his job to prepare the novice and then die so as not to overshadow him.

A preferable way I think is the way FFX handles it. Again Auron is a typical Obi Wan character, but when he rejoins the party much later Tidus (the novice) is about as powerful as Auron was at the start. Auron then fits into the party without overshadowing. Though Auron is so many levels of cool above Tidus it happens anyway.

Anyone who is familiar with FFX will see a route into DA3 for Duncan from what I typed.

I agree, Auron for DA3

and I predict Duncan's regurgitated body will be found by the Tevinters who will use Necromancy and lyrium to put him back together like Darth Vader, helmet and all, although there mask will have a built on beard.

Unfortunately, based on the cameos we've seen this game, I suspect it will be a scene where he pulls the bandages off and demands a mirror. Holding it up we see in the reflection his new horrible visage... Bann Teagan.

*gasp* The horror!

I can see it now, like the scene in the first batman movie (micheal keaton) and the joker takes the bandages off his face and demands a mirror..

INSANITY!

No keep him dead. His death was an emotinal moment in DA:O. Bringing him back would cheapen it.

The Dragon Age series is all about cheaping things now - I thought we'd established that already?

If Duncan came back, they'd probably make him some gay zombie posessed by Meredith's spirit, who deliberately spreads HPV around Orlais brothels to aspiring new Grey Wardens. Your quest will be to kill him, cut off his genitals, and return them to the Orlais STD clinic for a reward of 12 silver.

No. Keep Duncan dead. Give the man the dignity his original writing bestowed on him.

Duncan, may you rest in peace for eternity.
