screeching accents and the possible destruction of Ferelden.
Also am i the only one who thought the antivan accents in DA2 sound forced and fake?
I was hoping for Antiva or Tevinter.

Of course, assuming they change stuff from DA2, I am not North American so I can not/will not understand all the french hate around here :-/
So I take it you had nothing interesting to say?Riknas wrote...
I'd never play the game in orlias.
If the game perhaps took place in ORLAIS, then I'd consider it.

As far as accents, first, don't assume that all N. Americans hate accents or people from other countries (they speak French in Canada and Louisiana btw), and second, what sort of accents do the non-English versions have? I asked a Spanish friend if Zevran sounds ultra-Spanish somehow, but he played the game in English and had no comment on the accents.

At this point, I need confirmation that role-playing aspects of DA3 will improve before I buy it no matter where it's set. If it's another game where quest dialogue takes the place of interaction with the companions, I probably won't bother.
Hearing every female sound like Isolde would not make my purchase more likely, no. But if every male sounded like Riordan...

Leliana in french has no accent. It's unfortunate, because French voiceover could've used quebec french for Orlesians, which differentiates quite a bit from European French. The only bad thing though, is that Quebec french doesn't naturally sound as sophisticated as European French.

That's too bad about the French. Maybe Orlesians should have had a Parisian accent and other characters could have accents from Brittany or Provence or Cote d'Ivoire, for instance.
Did the other characters have discernable accents? I'm very curious about how the game accents affect our assumptions about where the characters are from. To me, Leliana sometimes sounded Australian (the way she says "no"). Zevran sounds Spanish, but I've read that Antiva is supposed to resemble Venice when it was a city-state. I don't recall Danarus in DA2 sounding any particular way, though Tevinter is supposed to be like the Roman Empire.

On the plus side, shoes.
On the minus side, DA2.
