Is this a real question?

Of course I will play it... well at least once if DA 3 will become another Awakenings (which I highly doubt). Also Orlais is one of the places I wonder in Dragon Age universe. I don't know why but Orlais always make me think about dirty, complicated and sensual relationships. Let's hope we'll use charm/seduce options in Orlais too often.

No it's a fake question all in your imagination.

Cool then I can return my dreams about dirty hot Orlesian loving. Image IPB

Even though DA2 was not as good as I was expecting it to be. I can honestly say that I'll be playing Dragon Age games until they stop making them. I like the world and the story to much to just give up on it.

I'd actually love to see Orlais. I was hoping that we would have seen a little bit of it in Awakening when we chose to make a new warden...a sort of origin I guess.

Oh well. Im sure we'll see it eventually anyway. : )

I guess I'm too curious about where the storyline is going not to.
but it would be annoying.
Maybe your character was born in Ferelden and now lives in Orlais.

So you don't think you could stomach playing as an Orlesian? I hadn't considered that, for some reason. I wonder how strongly players identify with Fereldans?

I want to see as much of Thedas as possible, and I would prefer the location to be in Orlais or Nevarra. However, if Dragon Age III follows the same execution as Dragon Age II, then locations, returning characters, etc. won't matter at all. I likely just wouldn't purchase it.

I would go to Orlais just so my mage Hawke could burn it to the ground around the Empress' ears...

I'm french and I assure you that the orlesian accent is exagerated.
It's just so ridiculous when I play with the english voices :(

Orlais would fine if we could lose the Orleasian accents. I find them kind of grating. I think it would be interesting to learn more about the Chevalier and Orlesian politics. Then there are the shoes, and I'm sure the wine and cheese are fantastic. So, if we are in Orlais, we need character models that show off our shoes. This is VERY important.

I'd like to see Orlais in the next game. If there isn't a chance to buy lots fancy clothes for the player character I'll be disappointed though. Leliana has really bigged up Orleasian fashion so there better be lots of dresses. I'd also like to see some sneaky missions that involve disguises and duplicity. The only accents that really bothered me were Isolde and Marjolaine (who I always kill to steal her dress anyway).

If the game perhaps took place in ORLAIS, then I'd consider it.

So I take it you had nothing interesting to say?

I confess, many people often find me lacking.

Really though, I figure Orlais is just as good as any other place, since so many nations seem to be having political turmoil at the end of Dragon Age 2.

Yes!! We have to have fancy shoes! If we don't, DA3 in Orlais is officially a trainwreck. They can't dangle that cheese in front of us in Origins without giving us any. I'd even settle for some around-the-estate fancy shoes. It must be equal-opportunity, so both genders can have beautiful shoes. This is really the only thing that matters for DA3. Feel free to cut Bodahn and Sandal to make room. :P

The accent would annoy me greatly, but I wouldn't care, as long as the game is better than the lackluster disappointment that was DA2. Who knows, maybe if Bioware keep trailing the franchise in ME's shadow, next game will be an archery only FPS, and following the standard set by DA2, the Grand Cathedral will be a copy and paste of the Kirkwall Chantry, while Val Royaeux will be a Copy and paste Denerim/Kirkwall ! MAYBE, i'm just a cynic, but if DA3 devolves in the same way DA2 did, I won't buy it, regardless of whether it's in Orlais or not.

PS. Bring back the Warden !

I want to see the Cathedral in Val Royeux! so Yes. But I'd love to be in Antiva too, and hang out with The Crows.

I am sure, Val Royeaux will be in a later game - if they follow the path of the church/mage conflict. There are two great wars/conflicts: mages and Qunari ... and I am sure we will see Orlais, Tevinter and may be the Qunari-near or homelands. And I am looking forward to this cause I am sure BW will hear at critizism and will make good games in future. DA2 is not bad but could be better.

I say bring back the Darkspawns from DA origins and the Warden. Chantry vs Mages vs Tevinter mages vs templars vs Qunari vs Darkspawns vs ohhh.... Cookie monsters = The most Epic War in
the entire history of Dragon age :D

Now that's what I want to see in the next game.

To me, some of the Orlesian *characters* were intended to be grating, but the accent in general is not.  I simply loved Rhiordan/Stroud's accent.  How smooth can you get? Gorgeous accent.

Sure, Isolde was grating but....she was Isolde.  She would have been annoying with almost any accent I think. I love accents!  I do wonder if it will be a Marie-Antoinette inspired fashion sense.  :D   That would be fun to see.

i hope the time span is much less and the areas covered are greater ( more than one :D )  though. If Orlais is simply one of them, that would be fine by me.  Especially if it was countered by a less worldly, more earthy sort of area...  to contrast: I vote Anderfels. :D This could bring the wardens easily back into the picture as well...

I'd love to see Orlais, and a lot of things in-game do seem to point in that direction. However, there were hints like that in DAO too, so the plans for DA3 could just as easily do a 180 and toss us into Antiva or the Anderfels ;)

If they make the game in Orlais I'm hoping we get to hear plenty of Orlesian with subtitles instead of accents, that would be interesting.

The only fully-developed invented language i can remember from games is bip-bip and simlish..

Can we play an anti-Orlesian PC and crush those poncy snail-eaters beneath our jackboots?

If so, I'm in.

Can you add a poll to this thread?

-

Orlais would be okay to *visit*. As in, wave to Leliana and perhaps meet (recruit?!) Morrigan's demon baby.

But, for me, Tevinter is mandantory. Seheron / Par Vollen / Rivain / Antiva would be very much appreciated too.

Where haven't we been? Nevarra, Anderfels (Weisshaupt in the Fade doesn't count), Antiva, Rivain, Seheron, Par Vollen, and Tevinter? ....Did I miss any?
