Hi, I am making a Warlock, soon to be Hellfire. I was just wondering about the 'immune to con damage' thing.. It states that the Hellfire Warlock abilities wont work if you are immune, but I remember them working anywya in the past... Does anyone know if it works or not in trhe latest version?
Also, I have a 'warlock buddy' mod that I got years ago... I think it may be out of date though, as I don't see any options in it for the Hellfire stuff... does anyone know if theres an updated version of the buddy out there? and where?

Here you can find the latest version for the buddy:

AFAIK the bug was never fixed by Obsidian (it is in some mods), I believe you have to cast Death Ward before. Or cast Lesser Restoration after your stats are decreased.

Another question - shouldn't Warlock count to be able to become a Red Dragon Disciple? in DnD, the requirement is the ability to cast arcane spells without preparation....
So, Warlock should be able to... so yeah... anyone know of a mod that fixes this? I would love to make a Warlock/RDD without having to take a level of Bard.

Warlocks don't cast spells, not qualifying for RDD is totally correct.

They do, however, qualify for many other things - feats, prestige classes, etc, that do require arcane casting.

If something requires being able to cast spells warlocks shouldn't qualify for it. What they should qualify for is things requiring caster levels. The feats you're referencing shouldn't require any caster levels (or spells or anything at all), obsidian propably added that so noobs don't pick combat casting for their fighter etc.

Your response was a bit confusing.... Warlocks suffer from arcane spell failure, and can take feats like spell penetration.... to me, that sounds like they should also qualify for RDD as well.... Anyway, I havent yet found a mod that will allow it, so that is pretty disappointing... I wonder how hard it would be to make a mod that edits the requirements for RDD...

I'm just telling you what the rules are. If you wanna change the rules so warlocks can qualify, go ahead.
I've never tried changing PRC prereqs but I'm guessing all you gotta do is fiddle with the 2da. For RDD that's called cls_pres_dradis. You'll find that in NWN2\\Data\\2da.zip. Just extract it from there, make the changes, and put it into your override folder. You should find all you need to make the changes here: http://nwn2.wikia.co.../Cls_pres_*.2da

Do you know if it actually works in real DnD? I think it does, but I'm not 100% sure. I kind of only want to do it if it is in the DnD rules.

RDD says you need to be able to cast arcane spells. Warlocks can't cast arcane spells. That's all there is to it.
RDD requirement:
"Ability to cast arcane spells without preparation. "
Complete Arcane says:
"A warlock does not prepare or cast spells as other wielders of arcane magic do. Instead, he possesses a repertoire of attacks, defenses, and abilities known as invocations... A warlock’s invocations are spell-like abilities;"

But, the book also says that they DO qualify for anything needing caster levels, but not "able to cast __ level spells"

Caster level doesn't mean they have spells, it means they have a caster level for their invocations. If the PRC says arcane spells and the warlock description specifically says they do not cast spells UNLIKE OTHER arcane casters I don't know what more you could possibly need.
You can also look at how other PRC requirements are worded. For example, the Acolyte of the Skin specifically states "Spells or Spell-Like Abilities: Caster level 5th". If being able to perform spell-like abilities was the equivalent of being able to cast spells, there would be no need to word it as one or the other there, it would just say "spells: caster level 5th".
