could use some advice. 2 different complete installs of the game. click the play button from the launcher and the screen goes to black as if it is starting up then i receive:

anyone else having this problem and is there a cure?

Yeah, i'm having the exact same problem. I've installed the game four or five times now, updated graphics drivers and direct-x. It worked once after one of the numerous re-installs for about 15 minutes then it died. Haven't been able to get it working since. Its frustrating me, i've trawled the support forums for hours, but so far nothing has worked.

Did you both try downloading the VC++ Redistributable Package? Download and install that, then un-install DA:O and re-install it.  I cannot guarantee it will help, but it's a starting point.

System specs please. Wondering if you're running an ATI card, as they apparently have buggy drivers with this game alone.



Try playing it 60 hertz as well.

Intel Quad Core 2.4ghz, Ati Radeon 4870, 4GB Ram, Soundblaster xFI, Windows SP3, all with current updated drivers. Going to attempt the 60hz

nothing i have done works, this game is a piece of crap since you cant install it without problems

I think that's the same thing that happened to me(not positive, my hubby installed it). I have to open it through program files>dragonage>bin_ship>daorigins.

Dunno if it will help, but good luck
