I have trouble with "sales are dropping" threads because the arguments are usually made by people who dislike the game and are looking for Schadenfreude, taking pleasure at other's misfortune, or are otherwise trying to say that the game they didn't like is a failure. Until I see a much more objective analysis (usually made by people who don't care either way of success of failure) I'll have to dismiss this as premature declarations.

Moving on. Even if they were consultants, saying that DA II isn't worth a purchase isn't honest. Saying, "Well it's gotten mixed reviews" and "It's different from DA:O, but it's gotten on average decent scores" "It's not for me," etc, that's honest. Saying "It sucks don't buy it!" isn't honest.
Not that it matters, because honesty isn't in the job description.

I've skipped multiple pages, but I felt the need to reply to this as soon as I saw it. The official title of a Gamestop employee is "Game Advisor." So a major portion of their job IS to advise people. If they believe that the game is not good, and if that's the general concensus (which it seems to be) then it seems perfectly legitimate to tell people that it's not worth the purchase. However, it would probably be more reasonable for them to tell people to wait for an inevitable price drop.
