There is where I'm hoping fixes will come up before I start playing it! I will be angry if as a Dwarven Noble my righteous vengance on my little brother *Named removed to avoid spoilers* doesn't carry over.

I like being able to customize my companions armor. All they had to do was make specific armor. Maybe have a Dalish merchant in the Alienage as well as Sundermount, sell different types of city guard/captain armor, Dwarven armor etc. It can still have a unique style for those who want their companions to be unique as well as let you upgrade companions.

If you're on the PC, Nexus offers several Mods that give your companions Hawke's Equipment layout, as well as a Mod that offers different kinds of armors instead of upgrades. (With different specs) Cannot imagine DAII without them now..

Which is why we need a toolkit! Or, what would be even nicer, FREE DLC TO GIVE US MORE OPTIONS (though now I am truly dreaming).

Yes Yes YES! Toolset! Before ANYTHING else, please, Bioware, keep
patching it and release a toolset. Modders have done wonders for DAO,
remember that!

I actually edited my post to reflect what didn't show up properly and the issue with imports. Glad to see your paying so much attention to what I write. =)

I make sure I read most posts instead of assuming what's being posted. although I'm not 100% sure the import bugs happen from the DLC I've heard people say the zevran stuff happens even without DLC's.

I know you can mod the game, but should you have to in order to get things like this?  My point was the never did any sort of compromise, or blend between the two games, they just made wholesale changes and removed things completely.

Hopefully the backlash will make them do what they should have done in the first place, find some common ground.

That is quite hilarious. I've not seen a single troll in this thread. What did you expect? Are you upset that this did not result in a slug-fest perchance? If so, I'm glad you were foiled.

Fair enough, I liked how ME2 carried over stuff from ME1. However the main difference is that in ME2 you were still Shepard, so there is a deeper endearing factor for the main character. And a bit of nostalgic flavor when you re-encounter characters such as "Joker".

Yeah, there's nothing like that in DA2. Hawke doesn't know the DA:O characters. And since it takes place in a different country you don't see any ramifications from your actions. Just cameos.

I think Zevran's cameo's the best, personally.

The Zev glitch has been fixed by the latest patch. Tried it & it worked. Looking at the Patch 1.03 thread sure is reassuring too.

They do however assassinate the personality and choices in who lived and died in DAO. Alistair, Leliana, Anders, Zevrhan etc. But thats just my opinion.

No toolset. The toolset in DA1 sucked, and it would suck iin DA1. Modders ahve doen suqat for DA1. Modding/tooslet was an absollute failure in DA1. Why/ Because, unlike NWN, BIO didn't give a crap about the toolset or DA1 mod scene. It was onyl thrown in because whiner sbugged them for one.

DEATH TO DA TOOLSET UNLESS IT IS DONE LIKE NWN TOOLSET WHICH WAS BEYOND AWESOMKE!

I wouldn't worry about it. For all we know they could disregard any choices we made in the previous games in DA3, I'd just play it and hope for the best.

::shrugs::

Guy didn't register his game. Some of his posts made me think he never played the game, just read people's opinions on the game.

To be fair, not a single troll? There was a guy saying "screw DA2 and screw anyone that likes it". Same guy who admitted he never played the game, saying "Why should I play a game I know sucks anyway?"

You sure you never saw a single troll? I hope he wouldn't have been more obvious to you if he had said something like, "Screw everyone who hates DA2".

I think the characters' personalities were left intact just fine and Anders' change is quite...understandable. Possession and fanaticism will change you. As for miraculous survivals....got used to them in Awakening. (And they ARE explained...except for *Spoiler* ...where David Gaider dropped hints about more being explained in time) Now the looks of them....I didn't like. Except for Leliana. Still my gorgeous Orlesian bard!

The only things DA:O has over DA 2 is the companion interaction and the ability to choose what armor your party wears.

I personally think DA 2 is overall, way better than DA:O. If you try to play DA:O again, you'll instantly notice how annoying it is that your character is a mute.

Annoying? Hardly, at least I know what my char will be saying rather than guessing with how the dialogue wheel was working and what would spout out of Hawke's mouth.

to be fair the OP even said the only way to show that he liked DA2 was by trolling (was in this thread but don't remember page). Get the fanboy glasses out of hear there are many trolls who hate DA2 and there are many trolls who love DA2.

Hopefully they go back to Origins style, although highly doubt it. I have no evidence to back it up, just a gut feeling that Hawke will be the protaganist of DA:3, that the paraphrase system will stay, that combat will remain unnaturally fast, and that we won't be able to talk to our companions whenever we want. Basically, I've given up hope that the Dragon Age series will turn out to be as good as I thought it could be. I'm sure it will still turn out decent games, but after having been so optimistic - then let down - by Dragon Age 2, I think it'll be better to be pessimistic about DA:3, and perhaps be pleasantly surprised.

From the little I've read about Dragon Age 2 (since I try my best to avoid spoilers), I know that DA2 is a bit distanced from the big picture from Dragon Age 1. So I'm hoping Dragon Age 2 becomes some sort of in- between game and that the Third installment actually continues on the first game.

I can't be too cynical since I haven't played the second one yet, but from the flaws I've read; could it be fair to call it Dragon Age 1.5 (A.K.A Spinoff)?

*Addition* And then, to live my own personal little gaming fantasy, I get to play my Warden in the third Installment... Hehehe!

Wait what?

The toolset was worth it for all the Mods that restored content alone. Adding missing dialogue, cutscenes, banter, fixing plot flags etc. (Morrigan Dialogue Patch, Zevran Dialogue Patch etc.)

Except, Paul, I wasn't the ones claiming they have not seen a single troll in this thread. And what does being a fanboy have to do with anything? How am I fanboy for pointing out a particularly nasty thing a troll said.... because it happened to be from someone who hated the game?

Oi. Seriously....

possibly although supposedly it greatly impacts the events to come in DA3 (I don't buy it but whatever). You could call it a filler game but that's just my opinion.

All useless garbage. The DA toolset was crap. Plain old fashion crap. What a real aweosme toolset? That's NWN. DA's toolset and mod scene was horrible crap. Horrible, horrible, horrible crap. BIO shouldn'tm waste their time on it since their focus won't be on to get it right.

I definitely think so. I 100% think of DA2 as just another DLC like awakening was. To me it's not even part of the real game. It's sort of like really bad fanfic.

They could definitely make a better game than DA2, but I wouldn't want them to just make another Origins clone. Going backwards is as bad an idea as dumbing things down.

Hi OP! *waves* I am one of the DAO lovers. And while I loathe the waves, the over the top blood ticks or balloons for exploding enemies, and the bosses with hit points like an MMORPG boss (which meant endless kiting and grinding), and the Anime HUGE swords,I would prefer a nice mix of the DAO and DA2.

Speaking for me, I loved the rogue animations and mage ones. I haven't played a 2h or a sword and board yet, and I haven't paid attention to the animations for them. I also like the animations for bow using rogues (especially using it as a hand to hand weapon). I also would prefer they slow down the speed just a little, not to DAO speeds, but somewhere in between (I want to see the cool moves). Also the tactical camera really needs to be put back in.
