Can anyone confirm/deny that the recent patch (Title Update 1.01) addressed problems with imported saves from Awakening?

Are there plot flags that are still bugged? Which ones specifically are you guys experiencing? Please include any problems you're having with romances/companions/plot NPCs from Awakening being correctly interpreted into DAII.  I really want to play through II again, but I definitely want to experience it as it should be considering how carefully I crafted my DA:O and DA:A playthroughs to get a very specific set of results.

The plot flags haven't been fixed in patch 1.01 but a fix is in the works for 1.02.

in my flag list, the one regarding the architect was correct. now, gotta focus on Nathaniel and the other comebacks from origins.

In my game (just finished) all was ok!
Nathaniel was alive in the end of Awakening, and is alive in the dragonage 2 quest. (he recognize Anders when they met)
The Architet was spared in awakening, and Nathaniel mentioned it in the dragonage 2 quest.
Zevran was ok in all dialogue and quest in dragonage 2.
The conspirator quest was ok in dragonage 2.
The misterious woman in hanged man was ok in dragonage 2.
My human noble grey warden married queen anora, and it is told by several people in dragonage 2.
Leliana (not romanced) react well remembering old travel with grey warden
Isabela confirms that she had fun with grey warden (wow)
In wounded coast, had meeting with dalish vs werewolves.

What i miss in dragonage 2 (if there are)
- reference to connor, he died in origins
- reference to King Cailan, corpse burned
- reference to Morrigan (character, final choice in origins, final choice witch hunt)
- reference to mage alliance in the circle quest of Origins

Next game i will use my origins mage (with different choices), so i will tell what i find.

The import list correctly lists the Architect being dead, but "Finding Nathaniel" has Nathaniel incorrectly state that the Architect is alive if The Warden killed him.

Any news on whether the Finding Nathaniel quest has been fixed in 1.02? I have started a fresh new game with the patch installed so I am hoping that will work... will be very disappointed if it doesn't though. :\\

No, Finding Nathaniel has not been fixed in 1.02. Bioware's claiming that they didn't create flags correctly in DAA, so there's "nothing they can do" to fix it now. Though I don't understand why they don't just create a new flag and offer it as DLC....

So the developers are going to do nothing about the Architect bug despite saying they would resolve it months ago? Why does this remind me of the King Alistair boon bugs, the werewolf turned humans with "Wolf" surname epilogue slide bug, and the "Jowan's Intention" bug that were never rectified...

Sure sounds that way! On the other hand, I'm just glad to finally be able to play a game I bought three months ago. o_O

I think at this stage Bioware should let us create a custom flags for the game. As the page where we can import DA:O data we should have a custom import option but still using the save to have the Warden appearence.

From here we can pick gender, race and all the choices that currently have flags.

I believe it is a good option for people who want to see the consequences from the first game in DA2 but don't want to see to spend hours playing DA:O again. This year is full of other games and people may not want to play DA:O and Awakening again but want to play DA2.

I lost all my saves but one which happens to be my complete save with all the dlc but it is affected by the Awakening bug. I don't like any of the pre-set stories so I am stuck with the option of playing 120 hours again or shelving the game and play something else. I do want to play the game again but I want it to be a perfect playthrough which is impossible for me now.

Finding Nathaniel works properly, but only if you had Nathaniel with you during the final battle and not let him stay in Vigil's keep. There seems to be a huge issue about the flags set for Vigil's keep and Amaranthine which the dev's wont fix. They will however fix the other romance plot flags.

I had no issues with anything so far. A questgiver correctly recognized that the Warden killed Loghain, the Archdemon and the Mother. Alistair is king. Nathaniel recognized Anders, said the Architect is still alive. Isabella confirms she had sexytime with the Warden. Leliana remembers her time with the Warden (Not romanced). The only thing i'm really still missing is if there is any flag set for Morigan and the Warden.

No need to be snarky. Also, the quest does not work properly if you need to have brought Nathaniel to the final battle with the Mother, because he can survive the assault on Vigil's Keep.

It is a bit of a letdown that the latest patch states that plot flags are fixed, but clearly not all are.

See at the end of epilogue, if you upgraded everything in Vigil's keep, and saved Amaranthine, the epilogue tells you that everyone inside Vigil's keep survived. That's where the bug occurs, if you did not have Nathaniel with you and kept him in vigil's keep, and import to DA2, he will be ''dead''. The game does not recognize or the flags have not been set properly for that event. There should be a whole new quest if you managed to save both Vigil's keep and Amaranthine, but alas i doubt we'll ever see it, since the dev said they cant do anything about that particular event.

I continued my playthrough anyway to get the remaining trophies I need for the platinum and noticed some of the Origins plot flags are broken now. For example, I imported the exact same save into DA2 as I did in my first playthrough - first time around Leandra mentions several times that my Warden was an Amell mage and that they are related. However, in my new 1.02 patched playthrough with the exact same imported save, she doesn't mention it at all. Completely atrocious... I have given up on getting a 'perfect save' in this game. My original save I finished with the game unpatched is the best I think I am going to get.

Also, these incredibly frustrating bugs are not making me feel very confident about ME3. I am really looking forward to the game, so I will probably end up buying it on release but if it's as bugged as DA2 then I swear I will never buy a Bioware game on release again.

I'm in the process of doing (yet) another DAA playthrough so that I can see Nathaniel in DA2. I usually save both Amaranthine and Vigil's Keep, but don't have Nathaniel in my party.

On a related note, I still have some DAO content I have not yet played due to the character limit restriction. It seems that they count each add-on you play with a single character as another character, so that limit is reached pretty quickly.

If they are not going to release patches to fix these problems, then I think they need to allow players to set "import" flags when starting a new game.

I agree with you Pasquale1234, making your own ''import'' flags when starting a new game would save a huge lot of hassle. On a different note, sadly Witch Hunt, Golems of Amgarak, Return to Ostagar and the rest, do not have any flags set when importing, so nothing matters unfortunately.

btw Tib i just did another awakening play though with nathanial in my party the whole time , it still doesnt flag him in my import so having him in your party does NOT influence it , it just appears to be random or bugged

It's specific to having Nathaniel in your party for the end game - the bug is that anyone you leave at Vigil's Keep to defend will be marked as dead even if they survived (fully upgraded).

heres what events were flagged in mine even with Nathaniel in my group at end game
Connor was freed from the Demon
Mages were recruited into the army.
Dalish Elves were Recruited
Harrowmont Rules orzammar
Anvil of the void destroyed
Loghain was killed
Allistair is king
Warden performed dark ritual with Morrigan
Warden killed the Archdemon
Amaranthine was saved from the assault
Architect is alive
Wardens Keep was reclaimed
Shale was discovered
King Cailans corpse was burned.

and that is all it says WITH Nathanial with me at the end of awakening.
