I'm playing the Return to Ostagar DLC on DA:O Ultimate Edition. I've fought my way through to the tower of Ishal, but every time I try to enter it it goes to a blank black loading screen and then stays there until I use task manager to force quit the program. The program is listed as not responding.
Any ideas on how to fix it?

Sorry you're having trouble. What OS are you using, and do you have any mods installed?

Hmm, i didnt have this problem with UE.
All i noticed was the enemies in the tower were all level 4 again, back to the level back at the start of the game (yes, weird i know) they all died after like 40 damage too.

No mods, Windows 7 home edition. I haven't messed with the installation of DA at all, or tried anything fancy with save files or anything like that. If any other information about my build might be pertinent, I can supply that.

Hmmm... the best I can suggest right now is to try playing from an earlier saved game. I notice you joined the BSN in 2009, but your game is listed as Ultimate Edition... did you have an earlier version of DAO before that? If so, did you uninstall the old game first? Or have you tried to install patch 1.04 over Ultimate Edition (which can possibly cause problems)?
If not, or if you want to troubleshoot more, could you post your hardware specs? Thanks!

Yeah, I bought the game when it first came out and then ended up giving it to a friend instead of playing much. I just got a new computer and thought hey, time to give DA a try again, hence the new install for Ultimate. And since it's a new computer, the original DA (and any other game at all) was not installed before the current installation, so that's not it.
I'm running:
Intel I5 2600k
8 GB memory
msi N560 GTX-Ti
500 GB Seagate drive
Thanks for the responses!

Thanks for posting your specs. Before doing anything else, since this is a new computer, I would suggest you make sure both Windows and your Nvidia driver are up-to-date. Nvidia released a new WHQL driver (270.61) this week. There's a link in my sig (below) to a how-to guide with steps for doing a complete driver uninstall/reinstall.
Here are a couple of possibilities and courses of action-- they range from benign to radical, so you choose:
1) As suggested before, try reverting to an earlier save game. It's not entirely out of the realm of possibility that the save you're using was somehow corrupted.
2) Try lowering your graphics settings, at least as a test. Your Nvidia card is a powerhouse, and your CPU is fairly powerful, too... so I don't know how likely this is, unless you're using some astoundingly high resolution or spanning multiple monitors. Easy to test, however.
3) I suppose it could be possible the DLC somehow got corrupted. Now, usually mods can do this, but you don't have any installed. However, you could manually re-install the RtO DLC and see if that helps... info on manually installing stuff is linked in the Solutions Roundup pinned atop the forum.
4) It could also be possible that something else (besides the DLC) got fizzled during installation. You might, as a last resort, consider backing up your saved games, doing a full uninstall and then reinstall the game.
