After a long delay, finally EA BRZ was able to deliver the game to the stores and I got my CE at least! Now I've already deleted that damn torrent that at least minimized my anxiety to have the real thingie in my hands!!! (Thanks God for file sharing!!! Finished the game this afternoon with tears in my eyes!) ... Already registered my oficial key and redeem codes and d/l'ing them atm. Can't wait to start a new game and go through 100+hours again in this epic game!
Of course I could not get the digital version because EA download manager does not work on Win 7 64-bit systems and to tame my really cool pc I need that. (and all the trouble I went through to cancel the order after I had already paid for DDE... I'm much better without EA's online snooping on my website and programs habits, plus I hate online authentication since I had connection problems and could not play my Plunder Pack).
Brazil never has an specific edition and we always get the US version with translated manual only, which is cool by those, like me, that love the language of Shakespear and Tolkien. But there are those that require our help in some portuguese communities forums and we're glad to help them understanding the story. Some actually provided a translation for the subtitles but it is slowing the game so far. (funny enough was to hear some child spirit crying for "mamae, mamae" which is portuguese for mommy and not elvish actually. Maybe Fernando Melo has some portuguese/brazilian origins that got quoted in game with that line? The name tells that...)
But with the main Orkut DA BRZ community with 2,600+ members and increasing, plus lots of other communities dedicated to DA:O starting there by my fellow countrymen, I cannot see them all purchasing the game. Some people, myself included, are stressing the greatness of the game and how it deserves to be owned legitimately by those playing it. Maybe not all of them but lots will in fact purchase the game or already have and were in the same situation as myself. Which really leads me to believe that a Global Launch Date would have better impact in starting sales. It was not only Brazil which got delayed release, afaik.
Weirdly enough, I was given 3 redeem codes in my CE edition. The two mentioned in USA's CE plus Warden Keep which I had undestood to be exclusive for the DDE. I guess that it makes up for the delay plus the fact that our CE was released with a Hard Paper cover box and a paper world map, instead of metal and cloth ones. And at last I'll not find myself running to that Levy guy, attracted by its overhead quest mark, every time I visit the camp, because I always confuse the guy for the lovely dwarf and his son! (boy, do that guy knows some rumors! Enchantment!!!)
