The first game was mind blowing. But the 2nd sucked.
Along with ME3, Deus Ex 3 is the most anticipated game this year for me

I thought about mentioning it, but I see it more as an adventure game/RPG hybrid. Very underrated game... but honestly, nothing can beat a game where you can have a PLANET as a party member.Drake Sigar wrote...
Maybe I’ll give it another go, though I was hoping to do Anachronox again next. Why does it seem like nobody mentions Anchronox anymore?
Another great game that everybody overlooks is Summoner.

The world that those games invented is really amazing, plus the story and all the paths you can take kept me hooked even after I'd tried them each like 5 times.

Probably KotOR2 (yes, I liked it more than the first) or Dragon Age Origins for second place.
I also liked Torment, Vampire Bloodlines, KOTOR and The Witcher.
I still have to find some time to play Deus Ex and Baldur's Gate though (a crime, I know)

My cRPG playing goes back way back though - the first one I remember playing is Phantasie III on c64. There were many very good RPGs that I played before BG2, but BG2 raised the bar.

Dragon Quest (especially 8, 9 and 5-6 DS)
Shin Megami Tensei
Persona (if it counts as a seperate series from SMT)
Mass Effect series
Final Fantasy series (12, Crisis Core and both DIssidias being my faves)
The Witcher
Risen
Dragon Age
Etrian Odyssey
Disgaea series
Hell, I might as well say this: If its made by either Bioware, Square Enix, Atlus or Nippon Ichi, odds are that I'll love it 100%.

Interesting - I got these in a Steam bundle deal together with Gothic 4.
I'll have to install them and check them out.

Vampire just left an amazing bunch of great impressions from 'Nasty Dude' to Shelly the pet turtle, it was great. And Morrowind... *sighs* an awesome game, kept me playing for years (and in a relationship as well - who says games are anti-social!)
I also loved FO3, DAO and the first Mass Effect. There is still a some more amazing games but as for favorites, I suppose those would be my top 5 - very closely followed by Alpha Protocol and Jade Empire.
But there is never an end and it'll be exciting to see how Skyrim, Deux Ex HR, Witcher 2 will actually turn out - oh, and Brink.

Fallout New Vegas for all else pertaining
I would of said Fallout 3, but after recently playing through it again I find my self wanting the less serious feel of NV.Of course the vast improvements to gameplay help, as well as the hardcore mode.

Mass Effect good scifi rpgness
Kotor it's Star Wars!
The Witcher man I can't wait for The Witcher 2!
Demon's Soul
Question! I been wanting to play Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 to try out and find out why it's the best rpg's ever made. Well just looking at screenshots I feel overwhelmed and makes me think Dragon Age isn't this difficult. How is it the spiritual succcesor?
But anyways any tips for a noob who wants to try BG 1 and 2?

Ha you try Fallout 1 and 2. Superior in every way.
So far, I actually think Fallout 3 is better than Fallout 1. But I haven't finished either yet.

In Baldur's Gate, bows dominate. In Baldur's Gate 2, they don't.
Also, you can revive your characters at Temples of Waukeen, so don't freak out when they die unless their portrait is gone, cause you can't revive them anymore if that happens.
