Question! I been wanting to play Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 to try out and find out why it's the best rpg's ever made. Well just looking at screenshots I feel overwhelmed and makes me think Dragon Age isn't this difficult. How is it the spiritual succcesor?

But anyways any tips for a noob who wants to try BG 1 and 2?

  Yea, get the BGT (stands for Baldurs Gate Trilogy).  It basicly turns BG, BG2 and the expansions into one massive game using the BG2 engine.    And read through the BG2 manual or get a little fimilar with the 2nd edition d&d rules somewhat, or you might be a little confused.  And pause alot, of course.

My favorite...hm. Tough one. Probably Jade Empire, honestly. I love martial arts movies, and it basically feels like an extremely cool playable martial arts film. Unrelated note, I have Radiant Historia for DS arriving in the mail tomorrow. I've seen reviews that say its like playing Chrono Trigger for the first time. Needless to say, high praise. I'm looking forward to it.

Oh. Nevermind. Forget Jade Empire. I forgot about Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines. After you fix it with the unofficial patch, it's one of the best games ever.

If your feeling adventurous check out the Big World Project. It's pretty nuts, took all night to install, and then some. lol

 I didn't really play many games in the 90s. Fallout NV could easily be replaced by any other open world rpg of its ilk. Of course Skyrim will be king of the hill in November.

Vampire-Bloodlines with patches is one of my favourites along with The Witcher, DAO, ME1, Star Ocean: Till the end of time and FFXII.

Throw Breath of Fire II, Chrono Trigger, Xenogears, and Vagrant Story in there for good measure too.

Fallout 1&2 or Kotor but this generation its Mass Effect and Dragon Age.

I know its not the popular answer, but New Vegas engrossed me in the world more than Fallout 3. I felt like my choices actually impacted the game, where as there was few choices in 3.

As far as story goes my list is a little something like this:

1. Mass Effect
2. Kotor
3. DA: Origins
4. ME2
5. Kotor

What can I say...Bioware knows story...

As far as gameplay goes:

1. Dragon Age 2
2. New Vegas
3. ME2
4. Kingdom Hearts
5. Pokemon

Yeh I said it...pokemon

Overall though, Mass Effect (the first) takes the cake for me...i've never had the sense of satisfaction i had while playing it for the first time. Was just amazing
