There's also Sacred 2 which has a reasonably open world.

Reasonably open? It's frakking huge!

Yeah. Mount and Blade is pretty good but character interaction is lacking. Warband is also worse in combat than the original and isn't really needed if you brought the original since it hardly contains anything new. Why can't you play older games though Shasow? You'd be really missing out on a good game with Arx.

Good thing with both Arx and Two Worlds - there's demos for them, so play the demos before you buy them to see if you'll enjoy them or not.

I can play old games...and I didn't say I wouldn't get Two Worlds or Arx Fatali.

Sacred 2 also looks good.

Is Sacred 2 online?

There's several online modes; co-op, competitive, etc. I haven't been able to try it online due to registraion/account issues because I reinstalled the game, and their customer service sucks big time. They basically claimed I pirated it and then ignored me. The game plays similar to MMO's though, lot's grinding, a very detailed and impressive world, but not much story. It's good if you like killing, collecting, and leveling.

If you want the full packge for an isometric diablo clone, I'd go with Divine Divinity. It's an older game but I consider it superior to either Diablo. You can get it at GoG.

Oh, and another thing about Sacred 2, its a huge install, and poorly optimized. You need a pretty beefy pc to run it at high settings.

Sacred 2? Hmmm. It has a massive world and so many quests but I didn't like the quests, most were boring and enemies are littered everywhere in the world. Some of the environments were nice though and varied. If there were less enemies and better quests, it may have been a good game for me. You may like it though, there seem to be many who like it just as though who hate it.

Well...The First Templar is still on the top of my list.

And they really should've made Demon's Souls for PC.

What is The Cursed Crusade? Like is it a followup of The First Templar? I remember reading that somewhere. Or is it just another awesome (maybe?) game?

The Cursed Crusade is another game set in the Middle East during the Crusades but I don't know if you're playing a Templar. But it seems to be a much more darker game than The First Templar. They aren't part of a series. They are made by two different companies.

@Slimgrin

What's the Dark Souls?

Update while creating this message:

Spiritual successor to Demon's Souls and it's on Xbox 360 too? TBA 2011? Good. Thanks for telling me this. I'm certainly interested in it.

Will Dark Souls be as hard as Demon's Souls? And will it be on the PC?

Edit: Found out it will NOT be on the PC. Fail.  <_<

Edit: Woops I put The Cursed Crusader's trailer. Meant to put Dark Souls.

I was just practising the art of understatement. :P  What I meant was that chunks of the map are cut off until you get to certain bits of the MQ.  Not that it really matters, the elven zone by itself is as big as some game worlds, and is a really nice place to explore.  When you're not being assaulted by psychotic garden gnomes, that is.

For RPGs with most medievalish setting, you should go for Witcher1/2. Baldur's Gate 1/2 have a distant medieval vibe to them too. Temple of Elemental Evil is a great game, set in Greyhawk i think, also somewhat medieval. Drakensang 1/2 looks and feels almost like late medieval Germany. Lionheart was an extremely bad game set in a fantasy take on late medieval/early renaissance Europe.
Action games: Assassin's Creed 1 is set in medieval Jerusalem.

Sacred 2 with Elite texture packs looks pretty awesome but the game was freaking boring to me.. I'm so sorry but the storyline really suxs for me.. It's not immersive, freaking irritating stupid NPC quest that you need to escort and they go around running towards monster suiciding, bad rewards for quest.. you get better experience in killing monsters than doing 1 quest. Also it's really utterly boring that you just spam and specialize 1 or 2 combat arts repetitively for entire game for all 5 difficulties if you wished so..

The whole point of demon souls was to make it a PS3 exclusive i think.

if your terribly desperate and like the gothic series you could try Risen..

If the whole point of Demon's Souls is to make it PS3 exclusive, then they're pretty stupid. They could've made 3x more money.

And Demon's Souls is special. With the unique multiplayer system and stuff.

they wanted to give the PS3 an exclusive RPGish Medieval game, like Building fancy buildings in a city so people will move there, its stupid but thats why.

And no, good luck. :\\

There is King Arthur - Role Playing Game which is an RTS RPG. Reviews seem good enough and I'm checking the demo right now but if you hate RTS games, you may not like it I suppose.

LOTR Battle For Middle Earth 1 & 2 also contain some RPG elements and you get to build stuff, what more do you want? The skirmishes in the sequel can last for hours and offer so much replay value. It was my first true RTS game that I played and easy mode is truly an easy mode for those new to RTS games. If you're also a fan of LOTR, you may want to get it. It's bound to last you months (at least the second is, haven't played the first).

I'm not a big fan of RTS.
