Only if it meant that more lives would be saved in the end.

Perhaps causeing the Sun in the Milky Way going Supernova or causeing the earth to explode and taking down all the Reapers around it.

The reapers will be destroyed but I will not let Earth and humanity die just to stop them .

I'd save both Earth and the Galaxy. How? Because Shepard is Bi-Winning and has tiger blood. He/she has one gear: Go.

Without a moments hesitation.

It's an over populated acid-washed slum.

Umm, Codex says that humanity has since been able to better manage cities to the point that if you're not dirt poor like Earthborn Shep, then Earth is a pretty rockin' place..... Maybe in third world contries, but other than that and the poor thing, Earth is pretty non-slummy. Or acid washed. They tend to manage larger populations better too.

Was referring to what Anoleis says on Noveria if you have the Earthborn background. :P

Pshhh, you're biased, of course you're Shep would agree with that delightfully annoying cheapskate....Image IPB

Yeah, slept on the topic and I still have to say I won't give up Earth. My chosen Shep may be a Spacer, but something about abandoning billions of her own species just doesn't sit well.

No though my shepard would sacrifice an alien homeworld or alien species if it meant insuring Earth and humanities continued survival.

Why do some of you guys feel this way? I mean, my chosen LI, Kaiden, would probably hate me forever if I sacrificed Earth for him. It'd be like my Shep lost him anyway so I don't see the point. Even if I took the stance that I'd rather have him hate me alive then dead, the guilt of having been the reason that billions of people died could kill him, or change him anyway.

If they mess with Miranda then they and anyone who gets in My Shepard's way is dead . I will not let Erath and humanity die and I will blaze a path of pain and suffering on the Galaxy if Miranda is messed up

If it helps eliminate the reaper threat absolutely. If you don't do everything you can to defeat the Reapers then everything you did was for naught.

No, terra firma cannot be replaced ever. Reapers' balls will be ripped off if earth blows up you best believe that those cuttlefish are done

Since this is a game, and since I never get to visit Earth (as in actually land on it and do things) in the first two installments, I feel no bond to it, so it can go if that serves the greater good.

if that's the calculus. My main Shep is paragon to the core, she doesn't think of human lives as being worth more than alien lives. Earth gets the same treatment from her as the other homeworlds.

silly paragons. You guys would sell out billions of your own people for other races who don't even trust or like humans.

Not necessarily, renegade Shep is nothing if not pragmatic. If sacrificing Earth was the most efficient way of destroying the Reapers and had the highest chance of success, then there is no doubt in my mind that Shep would go all Donald Trump on the acid washed slum that is out homeworld.

You know this is actually a really deep question for these forums. Honestly, I won't have an answer until I actually play the game. Shepard was clearly willing to sacrifice a large amount of the alliance or a large amount of the council military and the council itself if it meant defeating Sovereign. Shep destroyed a Battarian system to prevent the galaxy from being overrun. Those sacrifices are miniscule compared to the actual amount of people on Earth in the ME universe. Sacrificing yourself is one thing, sacrificing everyone else is entirely different. There would be no Paragon or Renegade choice for that. Paragon wouldn't want it due to the amount of death, and Renegade wouldn't want it as it would put aliens back in power and humanity near extinction. No idea honestly.

silly renegades. you would destroy the rest of the galaxy to save your own race, who by and large don't even trust or like you
