I take issue with this, if simply because it portrays Paragons as people unable to sacrifice things for the greater good and Renegades as alien hating bigots who are so petty that they would doom the entire galaxy unless their species came out on top.
An idealist (Paragon) would naturally try to prevent sacrificing a world to end the conflict, and try to find another way, and if the only option was sacrifice would try to minimize the loss of life; but at the end of the day if it was the only option for victory would not hesitate to go ahead with it. The pragmatic (Renegade) while most likely not happy would accept that sacrificing one world now to end the war would be the most efficient and therefore the best course of action. And wouldn't waste time that quite frankly doesn't exist chasing as solution that might not pan out in the end.
