Hi, everyone. Seeing how the recent issues about DLCs and such are still being looked into, I figure the best thing I can try right now is to reinstall Dragon Age. I bought the Ultimate Edition off Steam a while ago, and it's played on a laptop running Windows 7 64-bit. I've been having trouble with the DLCs. They appear on my list as authorized, but don't really register in game, mainly the Feastday Pranks items. Sten can't use his book and it makes me sadface!
Anyway, I contacted customer support about this issue and I've been getting help (for which I'm grateful), but I'm sure they're really busy so it takes some time for them to reply. That, I understand, but I'm hoping to get some more insight from fellow DA:O fans here.

I apologize for the preceding wall of text; I'll simply copy-paste from what I told customer support:
Well, when I open Dragon Age, the uninstall button is not highlighed; I can't click it.
I tried looking up the answer myself. I looked at this:http://support.ea.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2072/kw
However, I reach a block when I try to uninstall the game. I'm wondering if it's because I bought it through Steam?
I have managed to successfully back up my save files, but because I couldn't find the Dragon Age folder under Program Files (the supposed default location), I found it under the Bioware folder in my Documents. Thus, I deleted it from there. However, I still cannot successfully delete it from my system to reinstall it.
I think I managed to back up my registry (what is this for, anyway?), but from there, I am also at a loss. When I try to delete the registry keys, nothing pertaining to EA, Bioware, or Dragon Age appears in the drop-down menu below Software. If it would help, I could provide screenshots.

I can uninstall the game through Steam, but does anyone know how that process could affect my account/saves?
Also, because I backed up my save files on a USB and copy/pasted them to my desktop, will the DLCs still be attached to them when I reinstall the game?

Please help me figure this out? Thank you so much. <3

Hi Xannerz,

Sense you already have this as a digital download I will assume you can download anytime you want. I have had some apps that would't uninstall and I was lucky in the sense that I just downloaded the app again, basically over the existing download.

I'm assuming that for whatever reason, I may have lost a needed file during a junk file scan, for my app it worked after this re download the need file must have been reinstalled and I was then able to go through the normal uninstall of it.

As for your registry, make sure you go through each folder to find any stuff dealing with the game, This can be dangerous because if you have other EA/Bioware games you may delete something needed for those working games. I'm sure you know what you can and cannot delete, I tend to stay out of the regisrty if I can help it.

Have a look here and see if anything here intrests you, http://social.biowar...92747/1#7113423

Might be a good time for some spring cleaning,

Cheers! W.S.

I'm terribly sorry for the late reply! :( I appreciate the help! I'm actually still having trouble uninstalling the game. ^___^; Steam support is currently the one helping me get rid of it. DA:O seems to not want to leave my laptop. :| haha

If you are uninstalling because of the DLC authorization issues, have you done the steps in the troubleshooting guides pinned to the top of the forum? If you want to uninstall anyway, the Steam uninstall should work fine. You should also be able to uninstall the game using the Windows control panel Add/remove programs function. Your save games will have any DLC you have utilized in-game associated with them and will not load without that DLC installed.

Hmmm... If the FeastDay crap stuff is showing on your "Installed Content" screen, are you saying that the items don't appear in Bodahn's stock, or that you can't buy them, or that you can't give them to the appropriate Companions?

And when Sten reads from his book, (which, if you've managed to give to him, means the answers to all the above must be "No"...) the only result is an audio snippet of him reciting a Qunari Prayer UNLESS you're in combat.
Then, it actually does something, just nothing visible.  (Sort of like "Mr. Wiggins", from Awakening. Image IPB )
