I'm on the PC version, running in Windows 7 32bit on a MacMini.
My game ran great, other than occasional slow-downs where the activate item selection didn't turn blue without weird angles, timing, or quick esc then return and press space in that instant after returning.
Recently, after installing Arrival, I've run into a repeated crash during the suicide mission. It is the part where you run into a ton of husks during the biotic anti-seeker section, about half-way through that it will suddenly crash, or perhaps only if shepard is attacked in melee by a husk, I can't tell. Anyway, it didn't do this before I installed Arrival, so I have a feeling that might be connected.<_<

Repeated crashes in the same spot is normally indicative of corrupted files. First thing to try would be a reinstall if EADM/disk version, or cache verification if Steam version. Failing that, give us the info we need as per the "Read First" thread.

The game slowing down, and being unable to select items is a function of framerate off your graphics card usually. If it only happens sometimes you may have a heating up issue, during high loads. Now the issue may be getting worse so you are starting to crash during high loads. This is all an educated guess, so you may want to see if you can get a temperature monitoring program and see what your temps are actually running. You can also check fans/vents make sure you have good air flow in and around your computer and also lower the graphics some to see if it makes a difference. To me it sounds like you are in the early stages of an issue that will be more than just a corrupt file, but only time will tell, and I am just trying to give a different view.

I stopped the crashes after reducing my resolution and doing 'error checking' on my hard drive where ME2 was installed. Seems it was a combination of the resolution somehow being turned up (I normally have it down a few levels to prevent slow-downs, it probably got turned up when Arrival was installed, maybe Arrival re-set the basic settings or something when it was installed) and some corrupted files, as guessed by Bogsnot1, although luckily I didn't have to re-install ME2, just run some error-checking.

Cool, glad to see you got the issue fixed. Good luck with the game.
