and the franchise shuts down?

How will you react?

What will you think?

I will be sad, and pissed off at Bioware for making a terrible sequel that killed the series.

I will be disappointed if Bioware decides to stop making games set in Thedas, simply because I love the setting. Reaction wise, well I'd be disappointed, but I would be grateful for the books, games and comic that I have and can revisit. What will I think? I'd be curious as to why Bioware would stop, and I would hope that sometime in the future they would revisit the setting. Having said that, there's nothing to indicate that DA2 is going to be the final game, until Bioware makes an offical announcement, I'm not going to worry about it.

I'd be really sad. I love both games and would really love to see the series continue. Thedas is a fascinating place and it would be great to discover it all in future games.

Probably, although I imagine the resulting outrage on here would... somewhat compensate it for me.

It would be a bad end, but a mercy killing if any more games in the series were as bad as Dragon Age 2.

I'd very VERY disappointed. I'll start drinking and most likely become an alcoholic.

I would be highly disappointed. I liked DAO along with the expansion and some of the DLC's, even DA2 with it's many flaws was a nice game. Incredibly enjoyed reading both books and I hope there will be more written.

No I'd probably be happy in a wierd sort of way. DA2 was terrible and I don't want to have to slog through another terrible game which just diminishes the original, particularly one that has been aimed at mass market console plebs.

I don't think 'sad' would cover it. 'Devastated' might be more apposite. There could be wailing and gnashing of teeth involved. Having greatly enjoyed both games and the pen and paper version, I want lots more adventures in Thedas.

I 'd be really sad. I love Dragon Age. I wouldn't mind buying the expansion if it's not done by Mike Laidlaw.

Rather than sad I would be very surprised and disappointed.

I would not react in any particular fashion other than being disappointed.

I would think that it was a strange decision to drop their own high fantasy IP that they obviously spent a lot of time and resources to develop. To me that would indicate that they were moving away from producing games of that type, which I would not like at all.

So what?

Yes, it's a well crafted IP, I like (most) of it's setting and lore. And since DA2 ended with a cliffhanger, I'd like to see some sort of closure to it. But while it's not generic high fantasy, I still prefer steampunk, cyberpunk or post apocalypse (well, honestly, even low fantasy) settings to it.

That said, in about two decades of gaming I've seen so many franchises, I'm used to see fantastic new franchises rising out of nowhere, as I'm used to see them abandoned. Thedas wouldn't be the first, nor the last of those.

I would be VERY sad, given how DAII's ending had me biting my nails, I am that eager to know what's going to happen.

My reaction? I'd "congratulate" the haters for successfully killing a franchise they tried to "save". Again. I've seen this happen SO many times.

(And by haters I do not mean those who post constructive criticism. I mean those who openly admit to sabotaging ratings without ever having played it. Who spam 0/10 reviews on Metacritic. Those who belittle, mock and trash the game as well as its supporters in EVERY thread)

Less sad than if DA was the end. It's much easier to let go on a low than a high.

Awakening was lower than low. And Witch Hunt was a bottomless pit. Just sayin'.

I would be upset that Bioware would let a great opportunity to fix their image( that has taken a hit because DA2 is terrible) with a well done game in DA3.

I too would be very sad, but i highly doubt that will happen. Dragon Age still has a long long way to go in spite of the dismal DA2.
I think DA3 will be part origins style and part DA2 style but  none of the silly waves spawn or reused locations. Bioware know what they have to do....if only....IF ONLY...EA gives them the time to do it..

:( I really liked both games, and I do hope they make more. I understand that a lot of people were unhappy with the shortcuts taken in terms of map design and bug-fixing, but I play bio-ware games for the characters, the banter and the writing, and I was extremely happy with all of that in this game. Honestly, I'll be disappointed if they even skip the DLC for DAII.

I would think it takes more than one game provoking polarizing reactions for Bioware's reputation to take a hit.

I for one have ME3 on pre-order. And I am counting the days till the epic showdown!:o

DA2 convinved me to not pre-order ME3, even if they promise more free DLC than the price of the game.

EDIT:

Had I waited two months after release, I could have purchased the game and all the extras I received for pre-ordering for a total price of half or less what I paid for the game, plus the inexcusable bugs would have already been patched.

Or I could have skipped the game entirely, based on actual reviews, as opposed to the BS put out by the pre-release shills who would give a pile of dog crap a 9.5 if they got it for free a month before release.

ME3, you can believe it will be very good. They are not doing the DA2 thing...

Can't say I honestly give a damn.

I'll take what comes and goes, but sad or emotional over a game and/or company? That'll be the day.

Can't be anymore blunt.

I am looking forward to ME3, but I will not pre-order DA3 until I know more about it.  From what I have been reading on this and other forums Biowares image has taken a hit.  It has taken a hit with me and I own 5 bioware games.
