I'm sorry but this is something I can't agree with. Neither Kaiden or Ashley are good enough to be Spectres. Spectres are supposed to be the best of the best. They are miles behind Shepard, Saren or that asari Spectre.

What have they done to deserve this? If any of them tries to overrule my command n ME3 I will put a bullet in them.

You could easily go to either of the character threads or even the Kaidan/Ashley ME3 topic to talk about your speculation on this. There's some discussion about that in those threads.

There can be more than one Spectre per race. And why not Ash or Kaiden? They were with Shep as she saved the Citadel (and galaxy, most likely). Who in the galaxy would have done more than people who travelled with Shepard?

I agree that neither as we've seen would be a good spectre, hopefully they've been busy during the time that shepard was dead and were out doing badass stuff

If someone like Nihlus can be a Spectre, why not the VM?

Well he was ... you know ... Turian. They all have a superiority complex.

They are too beholden to the Alliance to be good Spectres. They won't act on their own accord as a Spectre should, they will ask their Alliance superiors what to do.

And as we saw on Horizon, they lack the investigation skills to learn the truth.

Kinda sucks. I don't really think Ash would make a good Spectre. Garrus is the one who deserves that title.

I'm good with this. It's not as if the VS was sitting around doing nothing while Shepard's dead ass was busy being prodded and probed on a Cerberus station by Miranda and Jacob.

Kaiden as a Spectre makes me cringe. I really hope bioware doesn't **** this game up with more stupid decisions like this.

I think Kaiden deserves the title, Ash deserves a kick to the face.
Or in my case, a nuke.

Ash/Kaiden was busy taking it up the ass by her Alliance superiors. Basically went back to where they were before ME1. Garrus, on the other hand, went off, did his own thing, gathered resources, men, and fought crime. Why the hell isn't he a Spectre????

I agree with this, Garrus has done more to aid the galexy than VS and probably is higher trained than ash or kaidan.

Maybe they're getting desperate since all the other candidates were killed off by reapers.

Garrus would have made more sense, since he was already up ofr Specter status when he was younger. Ash/Kaidan just don't work for me. And isn't Ash very big on the Alliance? Why would she leave to become a Specter?

Garrus actually was almost made a candidate for being a spectre, but daddy didn't approve.

I agree with jamesp81. They weren't just waiting around. They were likely doing other missions, some of which may have been important enough to get them some recognition by the Council. Anderson did say that he had sent her on a classified mission in ME2. Chances are he worked to get the VS recognized by the Council so that they would become Spectres. While I agree that both seem to be died in the wool Alliance soldiers, you also have to keep in mind that if the Council thinks Shepard's really crazy or has gone rogue, they're going to want to send someone after him to either bring him down or keep an eye on him. They would likely pick someone that he trusts - Kaiden or Ashley. By going that route, they're sending someone to spy on him that he likely won't think will betray him to the Council.

good... if there's one thing about Ashley and Kaiden that was annoying was they always felt like spoiled kids, maybe being spectre will sort that out

I hear if you use at six question marks, it makes the question more insightful.

We have no idea if the VS was, ahem, "taking it up the ass" while Shepard was dead and during ME2.  We only met the VS once on Horizon.  He/She was apparently there working for Anderson.  Anderson specifically doesn't go into detail with you about what the VS has been doing in general.

So, in short, you don't know that the VS wasn't doing stuff even more awesome than Garrus.

Ashley would actually not be that bad, assuming you convinced her to not be xenophobic. Kaiden could work if he got the upgraded implants. Headaches in the middle of a fight aren't becoming of a spectre.

I thought it was a quite a big deal to be a Spectre, that is why Shepard is a N7 graduate with years of combat experience. In some cases he is a borderline superhero.

Ashley is what? a regular marine with max 3 years of experience? (Groundside assignments are not combat). How is that Spectre material?

Kaiden is better though, biotic, got a lot of experience but has side effects from his powers that can make him a liability or outright useless.
