I give up. 100k has been able to change my mind on a few points, meaning I came to the table willing to accept and adopt an idea other than my own. I have given TONS of examples, using lore and gameplay as to why I arrived at certain conclusions. With the number and validity of all of my explanations, if I haven't gotten you to move a single inch from your position, that means you're not even worth having a debate with.

Patience is for weak, Alliance-boot-licking, ME1 fans who know nothing of what it is to be EXTREME! RAWR!

Sorry if I'm late to the party here, but where was it said that the VS is a Spectre?

Or is this Spectre talk just speculation?

A crappy article written by a playstation mag said tht Ashley/ Kaiden were spectre's in the 3rd game. The article was poorly written and Bioware hasn't confirmed it so people are just kinda arguing about speculation.

The VS is most likely a Spectre for political purposes. The Alliance, and humanity, lost there only representative when Shepard joined Cerberus. It was explained that if Shepard did get reinstated, it was only to show some sort of cooperativeness between the two.

Humanity, with a big role in the council, would not be content with having no Human spectres. They would obviously look for a replacement. Who else than the other human to save the citadel?

Seems perfectly logical to me. Let's see what happens before we start accusing the writers.

What I and probally most of the other ME 2 fans are pissed about is Bioware has no problem telling ME 1 fans who from ME 1 will be in 3 . But Bioware will not tell us ME 2 fans  who from ME 2 will be in 3.  Its garbage and sad that a developer clearly backs the fans of the 1st game so much.  ME 2 has its fans and Bioware needs to start listening to us .

Have you ever heard of patience??You might wanna try it some time. Beside Ashley/Kaidan/Liara fans had to wait one whole game to get their favorite characters back so of course biowares gonna announce them as companions first. You getting angry at this is like me getting angry because Grunt hasn't been announced as a squad mate

Yeah I have but its fair to call Bioware out on this .  I hope at E3 they tell us about ME 2 Squad members who will be in 3. If they do not then we know what fans they give a dam about .

I think you should show up at E3 with your Official ME2 Fans Spokesperson badge.  They'll let you in.

I think most of us are aware that it's not confirmed.  We're mostly debating the plausibility of the premise at this point, regardless of whether it turns out to be true.

Wow, I wouldn't realize how a mag would spoil such a thing, if true.  (They spoiled the whole Reaper vs Thresher thing, so anything's possible).

But, still I wouldn't count it out.  I'm going to keep an open mind on this.

Honestly, that PSM article is pretty slack. Any 3rd rate high school newspaper could've pulled that off more professionally. I'm taking it with a grain of salt and strong drinks. "Liek Jacb woant be in ME3 cuz he's not as pawpewlar as Garrus." Herp. Dur. Hur. Derp.

The VS is going to make a fine Spectre.

Oh please you VS fans got your wish those 2 pieces of crap are in 3 as well being squad mates . what more do you want .

In every post that you have made that I've read you seem like your angry at the world (and Bioware).

I am not angry at the world but yeah Bioware has showned that it has certain character fan groups  that get special treatment . like Kaiden and Ashley , Liara , and Anderson . what the hell about us ME 2 fans and the ME 2 characters that we like . Bioware does not have the balls to tell us if Miranda or Jacob will be in 3 . but oh we got to make sure ME 1 fans get their favorites back first .  Oh so now I am suppose to buy this crap about Liara the new Shadow Broker being a sqaud mate what was the purpose of making her the Shadow Broker then .  I just think Bioware has always been more on the ME 1 fans side and its sad they do not give a Sh*t about us ME 2 fans .

Yes the special treatment of VS survivor fans like having our character not even in ME2 (oh wait a minor cameo, the cameo was less than Conrad Verner's). And Anderson fans getting special treatment? How do you figure? He has one of the most popular voice actors and was yet again reduced to a minor role in ME2. Stop complaining about, "Woe is me, there has been one article about ME3 and Miranda/Jacob wasn't mentioned. This means they have been removed from game. BOYCOTT BW!!!!" Miranda is almost guaranteed to be in the game do to her large fanbase. Jacob on the other hand... I'm sorry but everyone hates him. Hopefully he is in for people who romanced him but if he is not, it's not because BW hates ME2 fans. Can't you feel happy for ME1 fans instead of complaining? We deserve to have some good information since we have been fans since the beginning till the end.

Protip Numero Uno: Insulting BW will not make them tell you if Miranda/Jacob will be in ME3.

Protip Numero Dos: Insulting other fanbases and whining means no one will take you seriously.

Lol,seriously an evaluation of the position of Spectre? Have you gotten the MCQ questions for the written test given out to all candidates? Last time i checked Saren tended to put his foot in his mouth more often then necessary with how he deemed humankind. If your thinking that the Spectres are part diplomatic and part military then you haven't met Renegade Shep. A Spectre is someone who is capable of doing the councils dirty work and as long as you can fill that role its all fine and dandy with them, you dont need to have a political mindset to be a spectre.:wizard:

Yes, but that is not how Spectres are initially evaluated. The Council doesn't just want someone who can get-the-job-done. They want someone who can make the galaxy a better place. Saren was chosen because he was charismatic and strong willed. Vasir was chosen because she was a damn good detective. Nihilus was chosen because he was a decorated hero. Anderson was evaluated because he was also a war hero, and a strong willed individual. Shepard, above everything else, is chosen because he/she is charismatic.

All of these traits, if utilized properly, can create great leaders that can make the Council's job of diplomacy, bounty hunting, investigation, and conflict resolution MUCH easier. That's why they're chosen. That's why even Renegade Shepard is chosen.

If the Council wanted people who would do nothing but get the job done, then they would've just hired Zaeed, Wrex, and Thane. All fighters of Spectre-class caliber, but not exactly up to par with Spectre ideals.

I feel that the VS doesn't have these traits. Ashley has good leadership skills, according to her bio. But, like Kaiden; like Miranda; like Mordin; like Liara, she doesn't instill the same resonating charisma that makes a person want to know what she's about, the way that the specialists in ME1 and ME2 felt when they met Shepard.

If Ashley went to recruit Samara, or Jack, or Thane, they would likely ignore, or even attack her, because she just doesn't have the same presence. She doesn't command the same respect.

The VS shouldn't be a spectre it would be an insult to Shepard's greatness.

Shepard has the most advanced Alliance Training and is considered the best of the best.
Ash couldn't even serve on the fleet until she was recruited ny Anderson

Kaidan is older than Shepard and never had N7 training.
I rather some random N7 marine be a spectre.

Sorry no,your going off into assumptions about how Spectres are chosen especially the one's you've mentioned.
You have no idea what the VS has been doing for those two years and whether they have filled your "criteria" to become a Spectre. Im all for the fact that they could have been nominated for Spectre status for pure political reasons but you cant dismiss the probability that since the last time you both served together that they got better "skill" wise. Hell Garrus was the Mall Cop in Mass Effect but in ME2 he is the turian version of Rambo during the whole Archangel Mission.:wizard:

Why should the Council give a crap about some utter intangible like that? Why should the devs for that matter?
