Hi, I can't play DA2 for more than 10min. It freezes randomly (in a fight or cinematic) and get back to windows after 2 seconds. I've been able to make it to Kirkwall thanks to the quick save, but I don't see myself hitting F5 up to the end.
My Specs: I7 2600k, NVidia GTX570, 8Go, Win7 64 home Premium.
My settings: DX11, Very High, HD texture pack, patch 1.02 (same crashes with 1.00), NVidia driver 270.61 whql (latest).
Those last drivers solved the rather poor framerate I had with DX11 considering the specs, and it now runs smoothly.
Each time a crash occurs, Windows task manager says that DA2 process isn't responding, and I can still hear the ambiant track. Using Alt-Tab or clicking on the minimized DA2 icon has no effect. I kill the process and here is the details I get:

I haven't try DX9, but it's not an option unless I'm forced to! I'll wait for the next patch. Hopefully this will be fixed.

Download the latest drivers from nvidia's website. It will make it a little more stable. It did crash on every 10min on my computer, as well, before upgrading the latest drivers (released a few days ago).
BTW, I don't recall seeing BSOD on Windows 7 before but the DA2 did it, cool. (with old drivers)

270.61 whql are the latest driver I can download from nvidia website. I did install them, but no differences.
By the way, after some play testing, I have had a new "version" of the crash. That time, the application killed itself. Here is the crash signature if it can help any dev to identify the issue:

APPCRASH and Apphang errors are usually due to either registry corruption or some code getting mixed up. Tends to be certain programs in the background causing the problem or in some cases core affinity. What are your hardware specs and operating system?

Specs: I7 2600k, NVidia GTX570, 8Go, Win7 64 home Premium SP1.
The only soft running in the background is Daemon tools; I don't think those crashes are due to my specs or background processes (if you don't count windows as one of them;)
It looks like I'm far from the only one to be in the APPHANG/CRASH case, so I'll just post those signatures in the "Patch 1.03 Planning & prioritization thread" and wait for it.

It seems you just want to blame the game for your issue rarther than anything else. Which is fine with me. If you don';t want me to help you then i will not however i wouldn't count on the next patch fixing anything for you since it has nothing to do with the game whatsoever.
FYI: APPCRASH/APPHANG errors are experienced in every single type of program you could think of and not just those made by Bioware before you point anymore fingers of blame.

Unfortunately, it does seem to be a problem with the game, either directly or indirectly. I'm having the same issue, which appears to be linked to running DA2 in DirectX 11 mode (although my graphics cards can't run true DX11).
Now, before anyone suggests that I kick the game down to DX9 mode, keep in mind that I shouldn't have to do that to run a stable version of the game client. It would be nice if this problem was at least listed as a known issue that is on the table for a fix.
I am running a stable overclock on my CPU and graphics cards, which have been tested and proven stable for at least the past year on my system. I've run both at stock frequencies and still experience the same problem.

Rather than to blame anyone, I'd prefer to help find a solution. That's why I posted those signatures in the Patch 1.03 thread. The thread already list Directx11 as a current PC issue, which, as InBleedingRapture said, appears to be in fault for many issues. The fact is that I've played Dead space and Dead space 2 right before DA2 without experiencing any single crash. I've run many benchmarks (DX9, DX11, OpenGL) without troubles. So it's most likely than DA2 and its use of DX11 are the actual trouble maker.
