I bought Awakening a few weeks before DA:2, and I'm wondering what I should transfer for my companions and my Sword and Shield Warrior.
What should I transfer into Awakening?

You should have an idea what kind of what your team would be by the time you get to the end of Origins. Most party attack sets have a character that starts with it.
Oghren is a 2-handed Warrior.
Anders is a Healing Mage.
Nathaniel is an archer.
Sigrun is a dual weilding rogue.
Justice is a Sword/Shield
Velanna is... um, offensive magic.
So my advice is to go into battle with the archdemon with your best party, unequip everything your B-party has after you stop the darkspawn from attacking the gates, sell it all to Sandal (for some quick cash), sell everything that doesn't import into Awakening, and when you're doing the finishing move on the archdemon, unequip everything from your party members, except for exclusive items.
When you get to Awakening, you should have enough spare talent points to make one of those characters close enough to the ones in Origins.

Yeah best to unequip everything before end. You can usually manage to unequip everything from your main team during the archdemon fight before the cutscene.
You will get better gear in awakenings fairly quickly, but the expensive rings and amulets are good to keep over in awakenings.

You can un-equip party members and sell gear (if you have Warden's Keep), after the Archdemon fight. You just load the epilogue auto save after viewing the credits and you can return to camp and finish any dlc you have yet to do, or just prepare your warden to be uploaded to Awakening and beyond.
You will get plenty of good gear from Awakening. If you have become attached to anything your companions are wearing, then you may want to carry that over, but don't feel that you need to bring everything. I would recommend a grandmaster fire and lightning rune, though (for a quest).

I got velanna as a shapeshifter/keeper/battlemage - like proper offensive druidic nature awesomeness.,..
Anders i gave the exact same build i gave wynne in origins - only wynne never use to say "andraste's knicker weasels" hehe.
Nathaniel = DW rogue OR archer (or both)
Oghren - same built as in origins... 2h beserker/reaver
Justice - s/s fighter
