TIM-the archtypical mastermind, extreme in some circumstances, but with pure desires and motives.

I don't think we met the same TIM. I met this glorious bastard who's intelligent, powerful, driven, and ambitious...but his desires are to become even more powerful and make Humanity (which he says is Cerberus, so the guy's a little delirious) the sole power in the galaxy.

Great character. I can't wait for Paragon Shepard to shoot the guy (Renegade Shepard may want to shake his hand). But he was already kinda a villain, just a beneficial villain since he gave the player a blank check and a massive warship.

Oh please, TiM/Cerberus is likely responsible for the most human death in Mass Effect second only to maybe the batarians
And he was villainous since ME1, ME2 is where they tried to make him look good.

This was something I always found interesting. For Human Interest organization that does not like aliens....why is it they always test, kill, maim, and lure humans into Threasher nests instead of aliens?

Cerberus is responsible for an awfully large number of human deaths. Some I can understand (like Overlord, controlling the geth would be important for Cerberus to figure out) others I don't understand (husking an entire colony...why? We already knew Dragon's Teeth turned people into husks).

Every human death they carried out for the greater good could have easily been turian, bataran, or asari. Who would even care if Cerberus kidnapped, killed, and lured batarans to their deaths? The human/bataran rivalry is so one sided in these games. Batarans kill, enslave, and attempt to destroy entire planets. Humanity does nothing against them.

....until a certain 300,000...

IMO "villanizing" TIM would be like setting a sun on fire. It is simply redundant and unnecessary.

He's my hero and my femshep considers it very romantic he spent all that time and money reviving her.

Have you read the books? He is a self righteous, sadistic, unscrupulous individual. His obsession with humanities superiority is a façade and most of the time leads him to fight against "fellow" humans. Judge him by his actions rather then his words.

He revived my Shep and provided her the means to stop the Collectors. That's all the proof I need.

Exogeni was behind the huskified colonists not Cerberus.

actually... it was still Cerberus.. there was providing of samples going on there http://masseffect.wi...ony_of_the_Dead

as for Cerberus focusing on humans? well they experiment on everything really - rachni, asari, thorian, whatever they can get their hands on. ends justify the means and all that

Exogeni was behind the almost identical side quest where they made a colony Thorian Creepers.

ME1...I love it, but side quests do blur together. I was talking about Colony of the Dead quest that jeweledleah posted.

They did test on rachni and geth....I don't remember asari though and I think their involvement with the thorian was just to study whatever Exogeni found about it. But it's been over a year since my last ME1 playthrough so I'm fully willing to believe I'm wrong.

So are we really going to say the books and comics are cannon . Bioware just needs a escape goat because the reaper story is a joke

The books are canon. They may be treated in broad strokes, but they happened in the timeline.

I was talking about that mission too but the description for it makes no sense. It says they provided "samples" (Dragon Teeth) to Cerberus but there's never any indicator they had any on Feros.

Looks like a big mix up with the Thorian creeper side mission.

Harbringer got to TIM. It's the only explanation as to why his goons now sport 4 Eyes on their Helmets now!

TIM is purposefully leading you along in Mass Effect 2 so you will side with him. The books don't contradict anything about him except show his true nature.

Hmmm...How -are- they going to villianize the Illusive man? (reads the ME novels, and looks at the things the guy is involved with in ME and ME2.) Oh, right! He's ALWAYS BEEN a villian!

Mass Effect spends an entire game making you hate Cerberus. Cerberus is responsible for a large portion of the evil deeds in that game. Then you come into ME2, and apart from reviving Shep and building the Normandy, virtually everything in -that- game that Cerberus is involved with is highly questionable. Then you've got the novels, which consistently paint Cerberus as the bad guys.

Anybody who says TIM isn't already villian material because he claimed he wasn't directly involved in the bad stuff is SERIOUSLY GULLIBLE, as well as exceptionally deluded.

ME didn't make me hate Cerberus at all. In ME1 I blasted through Cerberus troops like they were Blue Suns and in ME2 TIM with his Martin Sheen voice and pimp swagger made me love them.

I respect TIM. Yes he has had his hand in some nasty and downright wrong projects but always with greater intentions in mind. Intentions of a stronger humanity and the elimination of threats like the reapers.

The books can try to portray him as some sort of baby-eating madman but I will always respect that damned sonofa**** even if I have to take him down. But I won't take Cerberus down, instead I'll become the new boss.

In ME2 TIM had depth, he represented "the best and worst of humanity" as I think one of the devs said. I'd rather not see that discarded and him made into some generic one-dimensional villain in ME3.

My exact same sentiments. He's by far my favorite NPC in the series thus far. He's what elevates Cerberus above being some generic shady organization.

Hell no

That's like saying Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta is dead.

TIM just provided the resources. All hard work was performed by Miranda and her cell. So, in fact, it was Miranda who spent two years reviving Shepard.

Cerberus is DARPA size. He can overlook the number of projects/cells directly, I don't take it that he 'doesn't' know. Besides... Jack Harper... got shot first.

Uh, ExoGeni sent a small group of Creepers to Cerberus on the side. Just hack the terminals at the ExoGeni offices on Feros. You see those Creepers in one of the three bunkers.
