I don't think Timmay is the one who's ordering the attack. I'm betting Kai Leng has gone rogue and taken a large piece of Cerberus with him.  I'm betting Timmay's faction got severely weakened by Kai's faction splitting off, and Timmay would probably do everything in his power to help you end Kai.

If that is true then why did the GI article say that TIM is after Shepard . Bioware has retconned Cerberus for no reason . Only to please the anti Cerberus fans who were did not like them and hated working with them in 2 . So now Bioware has turned Mass Effect into a fan service type franchise . Liara fans whine like b*tches and what does Bioware do they make a Liara dlc . Alliance fans whined and cried because oh they miss  Hackett so guess what Bioware makes a Hackett dlc. While in the process those 2 dlcs all but render ME 2's story pointless. Oh and arrival dlc forces even pro Cerberus Shepards like mine into to working with the alliance .

The Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC was not made to appease Liara fans. It was in production for a while and it was obvious she'd be the target of a ME 2 DLC considering how much of a role she played in the novels and comics that were set in between ME1 and ME2.

Calling Arrival a "hackett dlc" is cute by the way. The featuring of Admirall Hackett in person had to happen some time.

TIM is a reaper and was wrong about Wilson

TIM is the hidden saren 2.0 of the galaxy. He is just a shell like saren was and his reaper form is near him most likely being obscured by the fake exploding star right behind him that image is a screen only and once turned off he would be able to swivel around and see the reaper and or puppet TIM has been transmitting from a reaper this whole time and the image is real.

Interesting theory, but Miranda has actually met TIM in person, in that very room.

I think someone as sharp as Miss Lawson would start to notice things like fake screens and hidden Reapers while she was there.

I doubt TIM is anything to do with the Reapers, or they'd have already have won this battle, because he'd have sent the Collectors to Lazarus base to recover Shepherd's body.

This is also flat out killed by Retribution which makes it very clear that, yes, TIM actually lives there most of the time.

So they need a enemy that will make ME 3 not look so f**king stupid .

Not true Cerberus' character has been all over the board since day one. I mean...

ME1 Cerberus = An agency so incompetent that they have earned the Umbrella Corp. seal of approval.

ME2 Cerberus = We don't play by the rules but we are the only ones trying to save the galaxy from the Reapers

Book Cerberus = That + we really don't like aliens, what a bunch of savages.

ME3 = Hurr Durr I am evul for no aparant raisin...

OMG Fry is the lead writer for ME3.

You're saying that killing colonists and marines for experiments, admirals trying to stop them, experiments on kids like Jack, making Paul Greyson husk, torturing David in Overlord, everything that Kei Leng did is NOT evil to you?!

Also Cerberus was ALWAYS incompetent.
Did you forget the failures of Overlord and Jack? Hell even a Lazarus Project was almost a failure.

I am sorry but Bioware is retconing Cerberus and its bull sh*t and someone needs to call them out for the sorry ass story telling they are doing . Cerberus brought Shepard back and now you tell me they want him dead . That makes no sense at all. what is worse they refuse to discuss at all . Its becoming clear why they turned Cerberus against Shepard. They have no reason for it so they are going to hide it .

Wrong, you had played the Cerberus Lackey and racist line because you like playing "Bad Guys aka Bad Asses". The ME2 plotholes had you hoping you could do that and get the warm and fuzzies at the end of it all, like you were some "good guy" or antihero and now that your assumptions have been destroyed you want to ****** and moan about it.

Get a grip, you knew Cerberus was nasty and villainous from the first game, you chose to jump on the TIM is cools band wagon and are pissed that that choice is gonna bite you in the ass. TIM has been portrayed and a villain from the git go but BW did a masterful job of making him just excusable enough that you could convince yourself that you were making the right choice.

BW games have had this element to them since Baldur's Gate for crying out loud, let alone Kotor. They understand that some gamers want to be bad and others want to be heros. Accept that you are a bad guy and revel in it, don't ****** and moan that your villainy has been exposed. We have yet to learn anything other than TIM is after us in ME3, nothing about why, nor about what the differences will be between the CB choices, keep or destroy? So what say we hold off on whinging for about 5 months and we'll find out how they did.

The very complaints you have about this issue are ones I raised in regards to ME2, it was forced and contrived that I could gain no traction as a paragon with the Alliance or the Council. It was for damn sure contrived that new games start with the worst possible ending from ME1 unless you imported a game. The story has been good, possibly the best ever in a game series. This will be the first time that major decisions from the first game will be carried through and have significant impact on gameplay in the third installment.

Yeah I have no problem playing the Bad Ass or Bad Guy .  I think the idea of Cerberus turning on Shepard makes no sense. But thats fine the way I see is it. I will now turn on those I am forced to work with in 3 . I will do all I can to destroy them.

Cerberus turning on Shepard makes perfect sence. TIM is an evil bastard!  He doesn't care about Shepard, to him Shepard is only a tool. A tool he can use to further his own goals.

TIM sees people as expendable. So he really doesn't care if you helped him or not, once you have outlived your usefulness to him you're gone.

of Course but I would hope that the writers can come up with a better reason for Cerberus doing this than evul for the sake of evil. Especially with the circumstances going on in the galaxy I.e. putting resources into hunting down Shep when there are much bigger fish to fry. It goes beyond even the regular level of Cerberus evil incompetence.

In all seriousness, he may figure Shepard to be too dangerous to be left alive. The reapers want his body, maybe TIM learns why and needs to have sheps body destroyed to help fight the reapers.

Considering that he was exposed to Reaper tech, I wouldn't be surprised if he's indoctrinated. Would explain some of his very stupid decisions.

That make no sense whu bring him back only to turn on him. If that is the reason then its stupid and Bioware really was just doing fan service

I think I like Zulu's theory better. TIM knows why the reapers want to take shepard alive so badly, and doesn't want to let them.

How about waiting until the reason is revealed before going all "RETCON!!!!! RETCON! FANSERVICE! FANSERVICE!!111"?

I agree.  I also believe his run in with that reaper technology mutated him in some way.

There better be a DAMN good reason for the TIM/Shepard relationship to go from:

"You could have trained an entire army for what you spent to bring me back" - Shepard

"You are unique. Not just an ability or what you experienced but in what you represent. You stood for humanity at a key moment. You're more than a soldier -- You're a symbol. And I don't know if the Reapers understand fear but you killed one of them they have to respect that." - TIM

And

"Regardless of what you think of Cerberus, of me, you're a great asset to humanity - TIM

To

"Dur Dur I'm evil and i gotta kill Shepard during humanity's 11th hour in a Reaper invasion" - TIM

Think about it, throughout ME2, Harbinger says to take shepards body, alive if possible. This indicates that there is something about Shepard's body that the Reapers want. If TIM found out why, and discovered that it was something that the Reapers needed, TIM would order Shep's body destroyed.

I'd actually find that rationale acceptable and it makes sense. Still, I'd have to begrudgingly accept not being able to choose to remain aligned with them.

The reapers said that . TIM wanted to destroy the collectors and reapers so no it makes any sense for him to  now want Shepard dead .  I want a reason as to why and if it is stupid and illogical well then Bioware catch hell  for it and plus it will be seen as anti Cerberus fan service cloacked behind a story plot point

I mean that if the Reapers need something about Shep's body to wipe out humanity, or something about them having shep would make reaping that much easier, TIM would see Shepard as too big a threat to leave intact, regaurdless of his opinion on him.

Hmm idk I'm running with this myself.

I think that all of this is kinda like the crazy woman in the last DLC. TIM and his robot eyes I'm going down the path that he just wanted to wipe out the collectors and wanted Shep to play a role to show humanities Champion can be the reapers ally. I think TiIM from the start wanted to keep the base and for you to kill the collectors so we could take there place. If you blow up the base that screws it up. If you let him keep it good, problem is you just delayed the Reapers by a few months or weeks, so TIM would still have to capture you to appease them. His stated goal is the advancement of humanity and to defeat all threats...in a point of view us becoming the new lackies or reapers may just be what he has in mind all along.

I mean he was never really honest with you.

Anti-Cerberus plot = ME1. Which is very good in my opinion.
