As I've said before, DA2 is being sold for five dollars near where I live, and that's due to so many of the copies of DA2 are being returned, becoming pre-owned. Yep.
A repeat of Assasins Creed 1.

Clearly, having Miranda on the cover didn't hinder ME2 sales...
But yes, that is simply a tongue-in-cheek OP.
Miranda is fan-service.So it don't count.

There is only reason why DA2 is selling very poorly. It's because a malehawke is on the cover!
This confuses gamers and they think they have to be forced to play this beard man.:innocent:
What a corny post this is.

Avaline is Hawks Beard.
It is unconscionable that in a humor thread, this brilliant comment went without acknowled appreciation.
It was clever, hilarious - best one so far - and won my coveted "Spurt Coffee Out My Nose" award.
Did others just not get the joke here?

Miranda didn't have the best outfit, but she is one of the better developed and more important characters of ME2, in my opinion.

You're right, same reason Mass Effect 2
Can't tell if you're just making this thread as a joke or if you're serious.. which would make me facepalm, and lose a little more hope in humanity.

Agree 1000%.
But yeah, it's a joke a lot of people just aren't going to get.

Duh. Of course Mr. House is just pranking and joking  It's a bit badly build joke, but it's one nonetheless

Perhaps they would have done better with FemHawke. *chuckles*
FemHawke, being kissed by Isabella.
Personally, if I'd just saw this game in store I would have never bought it (hate the dude on cover). But I'm following bioware and DA, so I knew hero is customizable as RPG demands.
This has nothing to do with me being a big fan of Kratos, bald god of manliness. And Duke Nukem.

As for the subject of male!Hawke, I'd like him better if he looked like the dude in the Destiny trailer. As it stands, he kinda looks nothing like him. Better to put fem!Hawke on the cover instead.

I think it's pretty awesome, personally speaking.
I am certainly not opposed to having male protagonists on the cover. No one gender is better than the other, and BioWare can put whoever they want on the cover.
But Priestly's comment that Jade Empire didn't sell well because there was a woman on the cover made me think, "WTF?"

He really wrote that? That's just sad... Maybe Bioware should just make one cover for all games: Black background and golden letters that say: "MONEY INSIDE!!!11"
Both Baldur's Gate games had bad covers or at least not really appealing ones and we all know they nearly ruined Bioware

Gaming is still a male dominated arena so why would publishers shoot themselves in the foot by reaching out to minorities ? Over the next 15 years this will probably evolve but for now things are the way they are.
Personally i never buy a game with a female on the front because it gives me the impression (rightly or wrongly) that it will appeal more to women. There are too many other games out there to choose from that such simple things can be a deciding factor in whether i buy it or not.

1) So every protagonist should be a straight white man?
2) I don't suppose the fact that the gaming industry constantly panders to outdated male assumptions could have anything to do with why gaming remains "male dominated". Nope, no way.

Yeah really. So I'm guessing that this:
Gender of Computer and Video Game Players [/b]
40% female, 60% male[/b]
Category: Video Game Industry Stats
Description: No Description
Period: 2007
Source: Entertainment Software Association (ESA)
Publisher/Link: Entertainment Software Association (ESA)
Source: http://www.grabstats....asp?StatID=770
Is just a bunch of bull-crap. Silly people. 40 % is nothing. You hear? Nothing. Are they increasing since 2007? Yes, yes they are. But it still means nothing. Nope. Nothing at all. Out of one hundred potential customers, we'll just kick 40+ to the curb. Who needs us, anyway? We don't got no money, anyhow.
