Hell, I know Bioware can do better than DA2. As long as they take their time with DA3 I know it will be good. But if I hear DA3 is coming out next year... yeah... ok... next!
Sure they can, the question that is more interesting is in what direction a DA3 would go. If it would be more like DA2 i would not buy it, more like Origins then yes. But no matter what, after that "disappointment" i´m not interested in a DA3 at the moment.
I don´t need to be convinced, i would not pre-order a DA-game again. I can easily wait for a decent player review. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

Anyway, after the disappointment of DAO, I found DAII to be far more entertaining. Hoping for good things with DAIII.

Good thing it's well known that the most vocal people on the net are rabid fanbois pushing their own agendas, and aren't really trying to reason with anyone (i.e. BW should just ignore them). Take those player reviews with a grain of salt.

I agree with you to an extend, i think everyone should ignore the comments and reviews that are obviously just there to stir things up. However most player reviews i have come across have very good arguments on what is wrong with DA2 and none of them were overly positive.
It´s also fine if you think DA2 to be entertaining, i think it´s a shallow RPG and i hope they don´t listen to people who love DA2 and have nothing to criticize.

That was not a critique, it was simply meant to point out that there was a cause for some people to think that you were the perfect person to PM.
Sure, but someone listed as a moderator is not an official channel of any sort. It just means we can moderate the forums. If someone intends to treat any moderator like a customer service agent, particularly when they only choose to act like a customer when it suits them, then quite frankly they've only themselves to blame.
I get that some people think I should be more polite, even when people aren't being polite to me. For the most part I'll respond in the same tone that someone speaks to me with. Beyond that, if "suck it up, princess" is the worst thing I can be accused of saying today, I doubt I'll lose any sleep over it.
Heck, I may even put it on a t-shirt.
No need, I'm sure you're quite capable of surpassing your current customer service level of talent. Maybe an hour long interview where you explain to us in very clear words the challenges of game design, and how this is your game, not ours... perhaps?
Then again, a recorder put on loop would also be adequately informative.
I'm sure you don't need two of those though. <3

My last word on the whole convincing, and who should/shouldn't be involved in making the game - if you don't like anything you've heard or read, then just don't pre-order. Wait for the game to come out, and/or read reviews from your trusted sources. But after posting with lots of you, and hearing from BioWare through interviews and the forums, I see just how many possibilities exist to make the next game even better than the last two. There are many. And at some point we're going to have to let BioWare just get on with crafting the game.
Thread winner.
Basically, at the end of the day, it's not Bioware's job to make the game you want, much less to convince you to be happy with a game you do not enjoy. Their job is to make the game that they think will sell best, and arguably DA2 succeed at this, and a DA3 in the same mold might do as well or better, it might not. You don't have to like that game. Bioware does not have to care that you do not like that game. All they need to care about is whether enough people like the game they do make.
Indeed, I might go so far as to clarify that to many independent developers, they make whatever game they want to play, and I think its worth saying that in such a case, it is their prerogativve to do so. Indeed, while I feel there is definitely room for DA2 to be fixed up or improved upon (Bugs and recycled maps for instance, off the top of my head), Mike Laidlaw and David Gaider (as well as the other staff members) are making games they think are fun.
Fun is not bad. Sure, if you're having fun kicking puppies I'll say otherwise, but that's an extreme circumstance.
We should never be upset that a game appeals to someone else. We can be sad that it isn't us, but anger and vitriol are just unnecessary, and does us more harm than good, as we come across as miserable pricks, and why would you want to please people who spit in your face?

yeh this is how i feel my interest in da3 realy depends on what direction it takes if it moves closer to origins ill definately be interested if it stays on the course set by da2 probably not

Yeah, I think you should be polite seeing as ppl that buy BW games are indirectly paying your salary.
I think if you don't have anything positive to say you should shut you mouth or you can anger ppl.
I for one and you can count on it won't be buying game from douchebags.

Then go away please, considering you jumped into the thread with no context at all, not even understanding why the comment was made in the first place. My advice, read back through the next time, so you have an idea of what actually is going on and not just what seems to be going on.
@Jabba
Your sarcasm is pretty weak, it isn't even etching the floor the way it's supposed to. I'm certainly glad I didn't pay for the service or I'd be calling to get my money back.

Jumping in way late here. Apparently I missed a very interesting conversation about, well, conversations. Ah well C'est la vie.
But for this I'd like to say that I can agree with your point Mr. Gaider. I do the same thing at times. But if someone starts acting ignorant to me, I try my best to keep it civil.
That only lasts for so long. Even shorter given that I have a very quick and violent temper.

I'm not sure how ambiguous you give me credit to be.
(and to tell you how good a laugh I got, be glad I wasn't drinking my tea at the time or I wouldn't be breathing).
That's not very flattering.
-- I don't think I'd be doing it right if you were laughing at that one.
Seriously, the joke probably fell flat because you aren't a native speaker, something I didn't realize before I posted the original quote.
( are you trying to say my English is bad ? )
I imagine those jokes of mine fall flat all the time.
-- Being flat in certain areas has its positives, while certain round parts ( but not all ) of the body might be undesirable to most healthy individuals.
-- It is possible that you may not have been perceptive at the intent of my post due to you unwittingly blocking out stressors.
Though saying that my joke fell flat in this case does sound much like vouching for yourself/being your own lawyer.
Your English is very good.
My English? Ah, so this is about:
-- correcting native speakers ?
-- I don't enjoy doing that unless I get to boast about it afterwards.
-- It's bound to get used against me at some point.
-- This is an English speaking forum after all.
However, you probably should check your own spelling before writing sardonic posts about my mastery of foreign languages.
Hang around and I'm sure some of us will be able to teach you some of the more itomatic parts of the language:
It's actually 'idiomatic', but I don't think you need me to tell you that.
I'll just attribute this to slippery/buttery fingers, if it's alright with you.
Seriously though, if I were looking to get homeschooled over the internet, it would most likely not be you I'd pick.
like the idea that sarcasm is caustic enough to burn through floors on some days
Interesting that you thought we needed something acidic to make holes through floors. Significant pressure from weight works just as well.
-- it is more constant than sarcasm.
-- it works better objectively.
Sarcasm exists outside the English language, but:
-- it's good to know someone talented 'within' it.
-- As a non-native speaker, I have to make sure it doesn't fall flat or backfire.
I do find it curious that you would vouch thrice for your talents already when speaking to me, however.
-- Boasting about your own wit may not always have a desirable outcome ( for you ).
-- The quality of a man is decided best by what kind of enemy he faces.

Geeze, Jabba, I was trying to complement you. Until you said your native tongue was Romanian, I was sure you were a native speaker of English, just possibly not American. I can usually tell the non-native speakers from natives. Not any claiming virtue on my part, just the fact I was silly enough to want a degree in English to go with my history degree. Between that and some tutoring on my part during basic Composition classes, I've gotten pretty decent at telling the difference in writing patterns with native English speakers though even that varies based on locale.
Point by point from above:
Yes, I got that you were possibly jokingly coming on to me, the fact of that matter is the comment caught me by surprise and made me laugh, which is a good thing as I was having a bad day. And yes, I was originally teasing you about the sarcasm you laid down on David Gaider, about the tee shirt thing.
And while I realize that sarcasm exists in all languages, not all languages or even regional dialects convey it the same way.
What I said to you about the sarcasm being weak and not even etching the floor, was something I would have said to a friend who would have made a similar joke. So I guess the complement was I was just so comfortable with how you wrote, I figured what for me is a friendly rejoined was appropo. I apologize if there was any confusion on insult taken, that was not my intent.
Lastly, while I'm flattered, I'm still not recovered from surgery yet, and my husband would be very put out if when I am recovered to find me with someone else...
However, in all seriousness, I don't consider you an enemy, and if you're ever in the Chicago area and are over 21, I know a good place for a nice meal and some good wine, on my tab.
