Why can't we all just get along?

I mean, I hate half of you and would not bat an eye if you were beaten up in the street, and find many of your worldviews, sociopolitical opinions, and religious status absolutely disgusting, but other than that I see no reason for any disagreements.

Did you report those threads to a moderator via PM? Because at the start of this thread, the one thing both myself and Eurypterid mentioned was the need for people to help moderators moderate. People wondered why I was asked to be a moderator, and I mentioned why in this thread as well: I reported a *lot* of threads as a regular forumite.

But I get the feeling that people assume moderators have this Sixth Sense to know where trouble is brewing on this site and be there when necessary. Sometimes I'd browse the forums and come across a thread 100 pages long about boobs that I never got a single report on. Or I'd come across a flamewar dozens of pages long and every other page has someone going "where are the moderators?!" But no report. A moderator is just supposed to know these threads exist, apparently.

Actually, no, it doesn't work that way. Unless there is a policy to filter every single post before it gets
posted to the public forum, it's never going to work that way. Moderators aren't sitting on their ass laughing as people act disgustingly to each other: you're not seeing action taken because no one's told the moderators about it. You can scoff at this bit of information if you want, and I'm pretty sure you think I'm lying to you most of the time, but others out there hopefully get the message.

Pacifen is no longer a moderator?  Thats awesome, as she was easily the worst moderator on these forums (apart from Woo) 

Now if Stanley Woo gets fired from Bioware, that would be even better!

So if the moderation is so great over there, why do you keep coming back here? Why don't you go somewhere where your opinions are valued, instead of staying here where no one wants to listen to you and where the majority of posters disagree with basically everything you say?

i never said the moderation was great over there and if i wanna come here i will seeing as i am a BIOWARE customer. and just like any buisness if i have a complaint im gona bring it up wether its in pm or a thread. you dont speak for everyone, hell i dont even speak for everyone because i can only speak for myself.


people can pm chris priestley all they want and the truth is the man has a real JOB outside of the forums. so yea i think posters have every right to debate the situation regarding this. no developer is gona just drop what there doing to just send someone a pm

Then someone pooped on it.

EDIT: @Daewan: while Taz has a minority opinion much of the time, this does not mean we should try to bully him into leaving. Don't stoop down to his/her level.

Great. We just lost one of the moderators who bothered cleaning up some of the crappiest and unproductive threads on BSN thanks to users who had the spare time to harrass her en masse.

This was a forumite just like you and me for crying out loud! A human being!
She was just trying to help, that's why she volunteered to begin with.

Chris Priestly's job is being the community manager for BioWare. The forums, I suppose, don't count. Which explains all the "used to be part of the community" banners.
