I begged people to PM me about moderating issues. It was in my sig and everything. They really honestly don't, which means a moderator could 1) go about their business and then be accused of ignoring issues in need of moderation or 2) seek out issues needing moderation and thus be accused of only spending their time handing out bans instead of partaking in the conversations.

If they cut their wrists over that, perhaps moderating here isnt quite for them!

There is that thread about best insults which I can fill with the best insults laid at me as a moderator, but all of them break the site rules.

That few? I really thought there'd be loads of other people Pming mods, actually saying that a lot of people arent aware of the report button issue...

The 'report post' button doesn't go to us or the devs. That's goes directly to EA. The only way to report something directly to us is to send us a PM. Preferably with a link to the offending thread/post.

But as Pacifien says, very few people bother. I find it interesting that many partake in spamming or insulting a spammer/troll instead of reporting the spammer/troll to us.

That's because some people can't control themselves.

I think part of the problem is that people think all the mods are rolling in filthy Bioware lucre, when the fossil fish and the red panda are actually volunteers.

Just out of curiosity, how do you get to roll around in filthy Bioware lucre? I've never lucre rolled and I'd like to try it.

You'd have to ask Pacifien. She cornered the market on BioWare lucre and then fled the secret clubhouse. All I got was the bar tab.

May I ask why no one ask the moderator thing above there picture right now?

Is it like only a certen time you are Mods or is it a glitch in the system.

Because Eurypterid is not a moderator in the Off-Topic section of the forums and I fled the super secret society of moderators recently.

ETA: If you ever want to know who moderates a section, scroll to the bottom of the page. There's a list of them. The ones in bold are forum administrators...or president of the company.

Wouldn't a candidate need to have a clean record to become a moderator? *has a clean record... oddly enough*

What's really sad is that when I first saw the thread title I assumed that the OP was writing about mods for the forum software and got all excited. Moderators are very nice and all, but I <3 game mods.

I have a clean record as well, actually. Yes I was banned once, but that wasn't because of something I did.

From what I was told they are normal recommended by one of the head Mods like Stanley Woo, and they get recomened because they are basically moderating the forums by PMing a mod and reporting things to them.

I have it on good authority that volunteer mods are recruited from the 3rd (or pi) level of the Illuminati Junior Auxiliary (Dayton Branch). Is that wrong?

Look below for plenty of all  woo's conversation partaking. Pacifien pipes in plenty of times. Javier has done plenty of topics in ME the last couple weeks.

Whatchu talkin bout', willis?

Woo? All I ever see the man say is "stay on topic dont swear bla bla bla" and then he tries to communicate and ends up having to stay late cuz he messed up Image IPB

That's okay, the pain of having to censor you for violating the site rules is no longer my concern. It actually wasn't my concern before either, but you seem rather convinced of it, so who am I to shatter your reality?

just stating a fact pacifen. i maybe encountered woo 3 times regarding threads as long as i been here. every other mod basicly let me speak my mind. just explaining the diffrences between who has done what. and i would like to mention that taking a job to serious can be a bad image wich i think everyone can indeed agree to an extent
