Hello,

Have the disc version of DAO Ultimate Edition and when I exit the program then start it up again later it doesn't
login automatically like it should, It says "Try Again" and I have to reenter the password again.
Once I reenter the password it accepts it just fine, it's just not remembereing it for the next session.

The "Always Log Me In" box is checked and there is no issue with it accepting my e-mail or password nor is there any issue with DLC.
Also, I checked out the DragonAge.ini an everything is like it should be:
EnableOnlineAutoLogin=1, EnableOneTimeOnlineAutoLogin=0

It's strange because if I exit the program then right away go back into it the auto-login works like it should, it's only when I exit and don't come back for awhile that it doesn't work. Strange.

Also, when I had the digital download version of plain vanilla DAO there was never this problem, auto-login always worked, it's only with this disc based version of Ultimate DAO that this is occuring.

It's not a big deal, I can reenter the password everytime if I have to and I don't need to be logged in but it's a mystery to me and I'd like to solve it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated:D Thanks!

You are not the first person to report something like this. I am curious... what version of Windows are you running, and is your Windows user account one with "administrator" access? Have you reinstalled Windows or upgraded to a new computer since switching from vanilla Origins to UE?

Hello,

Thanks for your reply. Windows XP 32-bit is the operating system and yes my Windows user account has administrator access. No reinstall of Windows recently or upgrades.

Everything should be working fine as Mass Effect 2 (Steam) Auto Login works, Dragon Age 2 (Disc Version) Auto Login works and DAO vanilla (Steam) Auto Login worked when it was installed.
The Steam version of DAO vanilla was uninstalled before installation of DAO Ultimate (Disc).

If your interested, in my investigation, one thing I noticed was in the DragonAge.ini file there is an entry: NucleusOnlineLoginAuthenticationToken=
Now, after that entry there is either a long string of various characters or it says =(unassigned).
If Auto Login is working correctly that long string will be there, If not it will say =(unassigned).
If I manually enter password then exit program and check the DragonAge.ini that string will be there, and if I go right back into the program Auto Login works.
However if I exit the program then wait a little bit then try to start up again it says "try again", and I have to manually enter password again.

That particular entry seems to be the key. In the Dragon Age 2 folder the same file exists with the same entry but also entry: NucleusOnlineLoginPersonaId=
Both entry's for DragonAge 2 have strings attached and they are always there and Auto Login always works.

Somehow for DAO Ultimate that random string is reset after awhile (server side?) and old one is not recognized (hence =(unassigned)) neither is a new string assigned untill password is reentered (theory).

Tried changing password as well and no change.

Like I said before, it's not a big deal for me personally just a mystery, but if others are having similar issues it might be worth looking into.

Thanks!!!

Happens to me sometimes. I find that the problem is caused by the game not realising the DAUpdater service is running on first launch after boot. This can be fixed by either restarting the game or by starting the service manually before playing.

I got that just after they fixed the unauthorised DLC glitch.

Still got it >_> (the try again glitch, not the DLC one)

Thanks for all the replies.
Seems like it is a server side issue so I'll just let it be for the time being.
Maybe they'll eventually fix it.

I'm having the exact same problem with DAO. But, what is weird, is that I'm having the same problem with Battlefield Bad Company 2

Just started with me a week ago, right after I had to restart the DAUpdater service (after a system sleep). Quite annoying...

I am having the same problem. Both Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age's auto logins don't work but Dragon Age 2 one does. What is strange for me is that manual always works but never auto. I am using windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. It always worked before but since installing Dragon Age 2 the problem started.

Yep same problem here... Another weird thing is the title at the top of the log in field reads: TextFieldTitle. This must be a placeholder that isnt getting populated.

Adding my voice to the list. I've never had log-in problems before, but since the big server meltdown a month ago I have had exactly this problem. The login always goes through the second or third time I try, but auto-login always fails. I'm also getting disconnected from the servers while playing fairly often.

I was experiencing the same problem. I simply turned off auto-login and played offline, since there's no vital need to be online after you authorize the DLC. A few crashes whilst playing logged in led to my DLC becoming unfunctional and forced me to reinstall the game, so I'm not risking that again.

Playing logged off certainly solves the issue, but the game does send BW useful data when you are playing, so I hate to stop doing that.

I have the same problem with ME2 and DA:O, but DA2 seems to log in just fine.

The problem with DA:O was that the Dragon Age: Origins Content Updater wasn't started for some reason. If I started it manually, it would auto login fine.

Wonder if something similar happens with ME2.

Actually, from what we've determined, the issue with the content updater is separate from the (relatively new) auto-login feature. There's been some thought that it might actually be due to a server-side change. The developers are looking into it.

Thanks for the info. It seems to work fine after a reboot, but if I put the PC to sleep and then start DA:O after waking it up, the auto login fails.

At least I can put the game in Windowed mode so I can punch in my password.

I have to agree I have the same issue also. I noticed it started after I changed my password to my EA account to use Origin because I forgot it. Logging in works just fine but just the auto login fails on the program start.
