Yeah, the consoles beta wasn't a good representation of what the game is all about, because we didn't have access to vehicles.
No jets, tanks, and jeeps makes the game just look like any other shooter. Introduce them and gameplay changes drastically.

I think it's cause the video was nice despite the fact of being fake. And I think in 5 years the graphics will be near to that.
In other news: nobody is gonna play BF3 tomorrow?!?

FYI, if you've preloaded BF3 on Origin, you can play if you do certain things... It is so PRETTY. And I'm reminded why I love DICE games- hot damn the sound is fantastic- they spend as much time on the sound as the visuals.
The single player is pretty insanely on rails and laden with terrible QTEs, but its mostly a means to look at all the eye candy. Its a Battlefield game, so the bread and butter is the multiplayer.

Well, I would prefer there to be some modes that offered lone wolf type experiences. I don't want to be the noob that lets everyone down.
If I had one word to sum up my impressions from what I've seen, I'd say it looks thoroughly authentic. and some of the best graphics around.

Thats the great thing about BF though- you can still end up dominating a match by not even killing but just capturing flags, repairing vehicles, healing people, spotting enemies or supplying ammo.
You'd only let people down if you were the noob standing around where the jets or helicopters spawn, getting in one and promptly crashing it. Thats when you realize you'll just let somebody else pilot and you can be the door gunner=]

I created a platoon called Mass Effect Elite... join me and let's train for the ME3 coop.

I don't give a damn about the single player. I may just finish it once to say I did it.
Its all about the multiplayer for me.
As for CoD, I'm in it for BOTH. But I don't think the BF3 singleplayer will be all that interesting.

Happy to hear people's opinions tomorrow. Going to wait a day or two before I decide to pick up my pre-order or not.
One thing has calmed my fears... Apparently the Xbox360 version will require 1.5Gigs of HDD space in addition to the game in the drive for "high-res" textures. That's pretty cool. The utter failure of the beta seems less impactful with that revelation.

I played BF3 beta - what was wrong with it? (but then again I've never played BF series). There was glitch issues but otherwise alright. I'm not much of a shooter game person but I was having a lot of fun playing the game. I'll probably get it when it's significantly cheaper.

I had pre-ordered BF3 but I'm not sure if I should get it when it comes out. I still need to buy Skyrim, Saints Row: The Third, Tomb Raider, and Mass Effect 3.
