i think you are getting a little to into this game, sometimes i see them and go "shes good looking" but i still end up choosing my squad based on personality.
at the end of the day Bioware is a company, and they too need to make money, it just so happens they know how to do that (males enjoying well rounded female characters) and no amount of complaining from you or the few that disagree is going to change that

If you post something that only says "troll OP is troll", what do you expect people to think of you?

i skipped most of the posts but have to say, OP it is not only "young teenage boys" that enjoy this kind of eye candy in games, its natural for males of all ages to enjoy the female figure, heck my 48 year old boss who is married and 30 year old supervisor both enjoy well rounded females in games.

I think both yourself and OP have a point. I'm a heterosexual male and yes, I appreciate the female form. That doesn't mean I want sexuality thrown in my face at every turn. Eye candy here and there is acceptable to me, but not when it starts to become the main content, and more than just frill. Personally I'd rather see them tone down the overt sexuality AND all the mnindless violence and start exploring some more heady themes, but I know that's not going to happen. Meh.

I'm with you on this. I can appreciate sexuality but there are different degrees of it. Miranda's overt sexuality actually put me off. I quite liked her personality but that physical aspect of her skewed my opinion somewhat. If I want to experience the more sexualised aspects of the game, I can go to Afterlife, for example. I don't need to have it strutting its stuff in my face all the time.
That said, there's nothing inherently wrong with a character feeling like they need to emphasise that side of themselves either. As long as it fits the character and is reasonable for the situation. For example, having your cleavage showing on the battlefield is a sure fire way of getting a hole blown in your chest. >.>

Aside from her face, Miranda shows all of 3 square inches of skin. She's hardly as sexualized as you and others are making her out to be. Would it have been better if she'd had separate on/off mission outfits? Yes.
But if I had to choose between non-personalized armor and personalized non-armor, I would go for personalized non-armor. I hope however that in ME3 they'll compromise and have personalized armor for missions.

You don't need to strip off all your clothes to be sexualised, you know. Besides, I didn't say how sexualised I thought she was.
The main problem was with how BioWare handled her scenes. One of the things I remember most about her scenes are the damn butt shots. Not her dialogue, not her personality, not her motivation - something as stupid as that.

maybe she just has a good butt that you can't keep your eyes off?
if you want a game where woman are actually sexualised the witcher is the culprit, other then that the Mass effect series is very subtle compared to alot of games out there. and as i already said they are trying to please alot of people not just a few.

Don't get me wrong. I love the Mass Effect series for their portrayal of some of the females. Particularly FemShep. She's my favourite player character out of any game exactly because she's not sexualised. She's a strong female character who doesn't need a man to define her. It's just a pity that's not as visual as the representation of MaleShep to get that kind of message out there.

Oh please. How many times does the camera linger on her ass as it pans across during a cinematic? How many times does it just blatantly frame her ass during conversations in her office? You don't have to show off skin to be treated as a sex object, and that's quite often how the game treats Miranda. It's pretty blatant.

I agree to some extent, like them wearing those outfits in toxic environments or even in battle. Also the high heels...really bioware?
Absolutely correct, no one (genetically modified or not) has the achilles that can deal with 3inch heels in firefights AND general use, no one!

Bayonetta can. And those heels have extra functionality.

Miranda's default outfit was by far the biggest eye sore back during my first playthrough(this was before AAP2 came out). There I was trying to create a credible and respectable military servicewoman in the form of my femshep wearing a Cerberus officer uniform only to walk into Miranda's office and see something straight out of 13 year old boy's fantasy. *facepalm*
Haha, I can relate to that

You mean like Jacobs ass shots? But you know what? Yes Miranda is portrayed as a sexually attractive woman. She was also engineered to be that. Bioware wanted to accentuate that she was designed to be 'perfect'.
I'm perfectly fine with you enjoying Ashley, there's nothing wrong with that. And for what it's worth- I hope the picture shown of Ashley in ME3 isn't what she's wearing in battle.
But I'm entirely opposed to every crew member becoming Ashley just as you are opposed to every crew member being Miranda. I think that diversity would be much more welcome. Some of us like Miranda, some of us like Tali, Some like Jack and some like Ashley. Personally, I'm glad more than anything that this diversity exists. I don't want any one of the "extremes" to be done away with- even the extremes that I'm personally not much into.
Yes I think there should be separate (personalized) on mission and off mission gear for characters, but each character should be dressed in a way that's not only suitable for their environment, but also suitable for their character and class.

People really do their best to find new things to whine about on these boards everyday.
This is a forum based on video games. Usually the hardcore fans are the ones who partake in these and the reason they're called hardcore fans is because they care about little things that a casual fan might not care about.
So that's expected. Its not whining. Its critiquing. Judging. Discussing. Yeah, there's whining and crying, but not all of it is such.
I don't see any hardcore fans here. I just see people with far too much time on their hands whining about the most trivial of things.

It's the most extreme case where the personality doesn't fit the looks AT ALL. Samara is a strong, confident and mature person who got the most extremes in her life to the point she is so much devoted to her mission that she won't engage in a relationship with Shepard even though she feels attracted to him/her. The big cleavage just doesn't make sense to it. I know that they wanted to give her some exotic look but the high heels and cleavage were completely unnecessary.

Dont get rid of the extremes if they fill an actual purpose.
Go play in a monastery if you cant handle sexualized content.

Where did I ever say anything about Ashley, or wanting everyone to be handled in the same way? My canon Sheps don't romance anyone at all, FYI. Too busy saving the galaxy to be worried about chasing tail, and all that.

It could be a cultural thing for matriarchs (Benezia had it too) or she could just like to wear the things she wears(god forbid a woman actually wants to look sexy)
