This actually kind of happens when you start his romance (along with an ass shot).

But that's the thing. IT'S DURING HIS ROMANCE, NOT DURING A CONVERSATION EVERYONE GETS

That's my exact issue. If asshots where doing the romance whatever. But they're while the woman is talking about her sister.

Ridculous timing much? :?

@AdmiralCheez

It's a phobia I've been having lately. I'm getting thrashed a lot, so I'm a bit cautious of EVERYTHING now.

*wonders if the ARWA will show up*

*considers barricading his house and cutting his Internet*

P.S. I wasn't going to say something stupid, though.

again, do you/did you ever go out in public say to a nightclub or resturant dressed in baggy clothes, or a jumper because it might be cold that night? no? i thought not, you went dressed up to look good, well as i said Miranda was made to look good and if she has to rub it in our faces all the time like alot of women in real life also do, then the more power to her.

You do know that there's a difference between a nightclub and a battlefield.

...right?

most of the "butt shots" everyone here are complaining about are on the ship, whats your point?

My point is that everything has a place. You are correct that people wear certain clothes to certain places where they are appropriate. What you wear to a nightclub is certainly not what you'd want to wear if you were going for a jog, or going to a job interview. In Miranda's case, my (and others') suspension of disbelief took a hit when we saw Miri running around a battlefield in a skin-tight catsuit and heels. It's not very believeable because of how inappropriate it is.

You know I often tend to scratch my head at threads like this that assume what is good for a handful of people on a forum is in the interests of the millions of other people that never bother using forums.

The whole "gratuitous sexuality" thing that people have going on about ME2 just boggles my mind really.

So what if ME2 has some exaggerated sexual themes to it? Everyones like what good is a vinyl catsuit in a gunfight? I dunno how about you get back to me after having developed biotic powers on the level a genetically modified meta-human like Miranda is, and running through a fire fight with a biotic barrier up?

Ergo this is fantasy, science fiction fantasy but fantasy just the same. I do find these moralistic cries for "sanity" in the name of a few armor sets that dared to show "OMG" cleavage in a video game or that happened to leave no question that yes, that is definitely Miranda's ass inside those pants, somewhat annoying.

The only thing I do agree with in this thread, from a reasonable point of view is the fact that the female characters weren't given any non-LI above mission loyalty or ties to Shepard. John Shepard's always got Garrus, but Jane Shepard...well shes always got Garrus but, no real female counterpart to befriend...so I agree with that, in ME2 women got the shaft in regards to females they can become friends with that they don't have to shag to get close to them.

Other than that, I really don't care for a handful of people on a forum trying to tell BioWare that Miranda was somehow insulting to the intelligence of the player base be it male or female.

Miranda IS a sexualized female character, its part of who she is. Prior to the Lazarus Project her and Jacob had a thing, if you read her file in LotSB shes either a rampant sex addict or desperately trying to get pregnant...depending on your point of view and overall attitude towards Miranda.

Jack was the only character that I thought was over the top in ME2 far as their overall outfit and that was mostly to show off the Subject Zero tattoos and thats more or less it.

ME2 was less sexual than ME was. Ashley and Liara or Kaiden, all basically went full body and sex was most definitely implied, the best that can be said for ME2 was some aggressive cuddling occurred and that was it.

And to be frank I could care less what females or males are wearing in ME3 it could be 100 layer battle plate or a transparent vinyl catsuit for all I care, I'm going to be way too busy absorbing the story and saving the galaxy to get my moralistic knickers in a wad cause the developer DARED to insinuate that a sexy femme fatale was....a sexy femme fatale.

God forbid eh?

Not at all. I believe a deciding factor-- if not THE deciding factor-- in a woman's physical beauty for me is their face. And, well, their feet too, but... *ahem* That's a story for another day...

Now for me, I'd probably end up giggling at it, then groaning inwardly when I realized that the current crowd of wardrobe complainers would then be joined by lots of homophobic guys that hate to acknowledge that yes, male characters have genitals.  Beyond that I don't really care about that kinda thing.  Besides, I don't think I've ever seen a suit in which you could actually make out testicles, just general bulge.  It's bad for the guy's health anyway.

As for the camera angles, I can only think of two that were really in-your-face buttshots.  The one where Miranda gives you her loyalty mission is the most obvious one, and there's another on her loyalty mission when she bends down to pick up a radio.  Beyond that, I can't think of any that I particularly noticed.  Those two are ones that you can't help but notice, but others?  I'm not seeing it.  Samara's cleavage likewise only gets the one boobshot, in her introduction scene.

It just seems like it is getting blown way outta proportion.

But back on topic, if the casual outfit fits their personality, fine. I was actually ok with Miranda's outfit due to what she was designed to be, and what she herself said she is. I was even fine with Morrigan where manipulating men into sex was a part of her for a looong time, and sorta with Isabella too. What i had issues with Miranda with was the damn camera angles and the ass shots at non-sexual times! Also, space combat does require more armor. It doesnt need to be like Shepard wears, but what i think of is what my Adept wore in ME1, light armor (although dont make it look like im pregant when viewed from the side. HATED that!)

I never intended this to be a petition to remove all sexybits from ME3; I like Miranda, and was only mildly annoyed with the whole "spandex in space" thing.

My point is that I do not want Bioware to push it any further.  Let's not turn the whole squad into fashion models with jumpsuits, okay?  I'd say we are at full jumpsuit capacity.

The inappropriate clothing for spacing faring and battlefields isn't just a female thing. Mordin always fights in his labcoat.
I suppose they wanted the characters to be easy recognizable, but it does get a bit silly sometimes when they are wearing high heels.

I liked that they were wearing appropriate environmental suits in ME1 when the circumstances called for it.

Then I can agree with this I'm not in any mood to see Mass Effect Xtreme Beach Volleyball either. Guess I just read this off as yet another "OMG Miranda is ABUDANTLY AND OBVIOUSLY FEMALE that is NOT OKAY" thread.

I think ME2 should more or less set the standard for about as exposed as BW designed characters get.  Theres only so many layers of clothing that can ostensibly be removed. I also think that we're not really going to get all that many more jumpsuit characters.

If Ashley returns as a Spectre shes hardly going to be running around in a catsuit and the picture of her everyone was freaking out about was simply her in an alliance marine outfit with her hair down which to me was just like....okay cool Ashley has hair, nice to know she wasn't born with a scrunchie
